I've noticed more and more trash on the beaches lately, and I'm gettin' torqued! Boxes for mini grills, water bottles, beer cans and bottles , Hard stuff bottles. Bottles full of pi$$. What the ef is up with that. Bottles of urine everywhere. Beaches and roadsides,WTF! The whole world is getting turned into agiant landfill/toilet. For crying out loud take a leak in the bushes like a civilized human. We don't need your golden trophy laying around. Take your trash off the sand with you. In most cases there's a dumpster or at least a trash can at the exit. Sheesh!!

Did you also notice all the NY and NJ plated vehicles around the last 4 or 5 days carrying unbelievable amounts of rods?
Saw one crew cab truck with NY tags 6 rods in the front rack, 4 rods laying flat on a roof rack, 4 more rods in a rear facing slanted bed mounted rack, and 2 more stuck at the rear- most corner holes in the bed rails! I am also thinking I am seeing things.... saw 2 yuppy cars, (BMW, Audi or something like that), not SUV, with very custom looking rod racks on their bumbers, also with NY and NJ plates... I don't know if it is a fling, is it some LI, or NJ surf club staging a cape invasion??

Anybody else see any of this? Mostly from Orleans and north to Funnytown... BM, FWW, see any of this stuff?

Get used to it---they're saying Montauk might be shut down until the 2d week of November.

Geez, like that's the only place in Noo Yawk to catch a fish in the fall :rollem:

Why would they drive right by Rhody, and all the honey holes that has to offer?
I'm sure they're getting there info on spots off the interblab, and Rhody, you would think, would be a given... instead of Cape Mung
(not that I'd wish them on Rhody, or anything like that!)

Cape is a much better place to fish than Rhody. Can't even buy a fish here except at the fish market.

If you go look at the biggest interblab site, you'll notice that the Rhody Forum doesn't get a lot of action ;) It's even slower on Stripersurf and Noreast.

Besides, everyone's heard of Nauset and the Race, but who the hell outside of RI could ever locate Stinky Beach :laughs:

Plus you know how Row Dylunduhs give directions---"Go down this road and turn at the light where the Almacs used to be, across from the old Jack and Harry's" :D

Please don't get me wrong , I'm not laying the trash situation at the feet of the New York crowd. The last thing I want to do is start with them, for the most part ,like us, they're great guys. But the trash, and filth has hit new highs(or Lows) lately . And it's everywhere not just the beaches. Tomorrow , during the drive to work, check out the roadside. Bet ya see numerous bottles of Capesams aforementioned "Sun-tea" ( Great name Sam, thanks). I've noticed dirty diapers on the side of I-495,too. For crying out loud, how and when did this become acceptable? Dog poo is bad enough. We're turning into a Nation of S**t flinging monkeys!:af:

This situation really bugs me. It's tough to label one crowd, state, or nationality for the litter problem, but I think it should be fairly easy to create a new category to fit them. "S**t flinging monkeys" is certainly a good start, more politely, "Inconsiderate, thoughtless dolts" also comes to mind. I see it after little league games, outside the local supermarket, on the beaches, even after meetings at work, anywhere people congregate there's always one or two who can't get off their a$$ and go over to the trashcan. I honestly feel some think they're simply above having to carry it around and it's someone else's responsibility to clean up after them. God forbid they keep that soiled napkin and empty coffee cup in THEIR squeeky clean car until the next rest area. They're the worst kind and I'd like to choke them with their own rubbish. Some just never learned otherwise and it never sunk in what they were doing to the environment. And for the most part I don't think it's the elementary-middle school kids, but from high school on up it just gets worse. How hard is it to cram an extra supermarket bag in your back pocket or glove compartment for trash? Not very! But some people won't change unless they're motivated to, which is why if I see them I don't let 'em get away with it. Even if they don't pick up their mess, they know they did something wrong. Hopefully, they'll think twice the next time. Hopefully, too, someday there will be a bounty on the heads of litterbugs and we can make some money off the ignorant bastages! We could also use that crying Indian ad for litter on TV again. (sorry for rambling on).

Jimbo,
Re:"We could also use that crying Indian ad for litter on TV again"
If you've ever been on an indian reservation I'd bet you wouldn't say that! :smash:

Jimbo

I hope I wasn't incorrectly interpreted and I'm assuming you aren't referring to the Mohegan Sun reservation either. Either way, my point was when I was a kid there used to be a commercial on (and it was for many years) that portrayed an Indian in several locations where there was pollution, smog, and litter. In the end you see a tear running down his cheek and even though no words are spoken you get the feeling he's thinking, "What the heck have they done to the earth." Maybe there's people out there who need a short refresher course.
If anyone thought I was saying otherwise, I apologuize, that was not my intention.

Jimbo,
Sorry I gues I was obtuse. I've been on several indian rreservation in AZ, mainly Apache and Hopi, and they are a bigger mess than the surrounding area. Bottles, cans, paper, etc all over the place and not just next to the roads. You can walk five miles into the desert and run across a empty six pack of beer cans.
