What kind of drill bit would I use to countersink an eye? I have tried to use a regular bit but it seems to "fracture" to wood around the hole. :confused:

Grizzly bits are crap bugger, not WW. There are alot better brad points out there then Irwin, they would be way down on my list. Too bad that Fuller co. burned down, they had excellan bits. UserRemoved1 10-09-2003, 07:50 PM yea Slip that's why I like the IRWIN bits, they are super sharp and got nice teeth on them. When you spin them up on the press they do nice job! The WW bits are ok for occasional use....but lemme tell ya I got the scars to show how CHEAP those bits are....be careful! It's worth spending the extra few bucks for the better bits. RI Popper 10-17-2003, 07:40 PM It's great to see Fuller back up and running, A great company to do business with. Also I have custom hone some bits to countersink my eye holes. I take a high speek metal bit and grind it completely flat and sharpen both sides of the flat edge on a wet stone and it does very well. I have drilled literally thousands of eye holes this way.
