Come on guys....isn't anyone out fishing this weekend? The board sure is quiet as far as catching fish goes.:sleeps: Lets hear some chatter out there.:chatter Slingah, Redlite, Tagger, Fisherwoman, Van, Moosenuckle, Sea Monkey, BasicPatrick....anybody, isn't anybody out there fishing:bc: someone please give me a fishing report before I lose my mind.:lossinit: I went out last night for a couple hours and got two keepers on Habs and #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& needlefish. One about 35 inches on my second cast and another about an hour later about 31 inches, then the moon broke out of the cloud cover and shined down like a spotlight. Fish gone.:bounce: Nice to have a tight line though, soon it will be over so I plan on getting out as much as possible.:uhuh: Anyone else catching? Anyone...Buellar...anyone?

I think I found Redlite's fish on Friday...breifly...during the day. Then, the wind kicked up and they were gone. :( Did manage a 27#er out of a sweet blitz though.

Otherwise, it was too rough for the boat, and I didn't find any fish yesterday morning in Chatham, and only found mung outside Saturday night.

I think the Cape run will peak after the water settles down from the big storm that's forecast. And I'll be there.

Nope, I'm going to catch anything today. My mom is still a control freak! The hell with her. I have to do my stupid homework, forget her.

I went out this morning and got the big skunk. I think the NW winds made it difficult, I did not see any bait.

:p Hey Bigfish, sorry no reports from me just yet. Just got back from MV yesterday and spent the day today putting all the #^&#^&#^&#^& away. Been pretty beat up so need to give the body a couple of days rest. When you heading south, let me know and maybe we can hook up. Want to get the boat out this week but sounds like the wind is gonna suck.

As for MV Got some really nice Albies in the 8-9 lb range and 2 bones and a couple of bassies on the night tides but the fishing was definately way off this year. Did manage a womens weekly with a 18 1/2 lb bass and got the mystery prize for one of the bonito. For the house over the 3 weeks we managed to get 5 mystery prizes, 4 or 5 dailys, a few fly roders did well and Frank is still on the board for 2nd place grand slam. but have the fever bad to get into the bass and blues that are still around. Let me know whats up.

Hope everybody else is gettin into the fall run with a vengence!!!!!! :D :laughs:

Went down to Pemberton Pier in Hull with my boys and a couple of Sabiki rigs. Boys caught some nice tinker macks which I proceeded to live line to no avail. Oddly enough, they were also jigging up small cod and even a half dozen black sea bass, real small like 3 inches long. Strange. Kids had a ball and so did I. Great weather.

Out last night with good results. No huge, just consistent 10-20 lbers.

Back out in one hour. The end of a Northerly with a flood ?

It is quite a scene sometimes. Let's hope tonight is one of those sometimes :D

Christ sakes we have had years where we were landing keepers in December.

This year started late, was a warm summer and Fall and now we swing into the best part of the year. Just keep some warm shortfinger gloves handy and dry.

Hate when my fingees get numb

Shore manic is obviously on to something... this year is running later than last. If you kept a fishing log and refer back, things are behind and have been behind since spring. Look at the size of the bait compared to last. Fishing reports are always good to hear but you can't beat going out there and fishing. I've had many nights where everyone hasn't had a fish all night and within your first couple of casts you're into a cow. According to them there was no fish, and if they know what they're doing maybe there was no catchable fish present at the time, but you never know when a nice fish will move in to feed. Right now that is anytime. I had my best day fishing last year when the water was 47 degrees, fish were as active as ever. You gotta put the time in no matter how fishless the night may seem.

those fish will move south in due time. gotta get to my fav. beach or the l$*%# and maybe rexham. gotta love your secrets!! like salty says i'll tell ya spots. i don't agree but he could be foolin. ya still have to know how and when to fish em'.hell i been watching and glassing and sitting and watching this certain spot for years. know there's big fish in it. but maybe the right day at the certain time i'll get the biggin hopefully cause i put my time in scouting the spot for 3 years now and know they are there... all i got to do is hook em'. blah..blah...blah.....

Fished Friday night through Sunday after noon. Friday-Sunday am from Long Nook to Hatches 1 blue, 2 gulls, many dogs, loads of mung. Moved to Bass Hole in Dennis on Sunday, got wet, one dog. I'm hitting Naps next weeekend. So the fish will be back at the Race I'm sure.

Despite another round of colds in the house, I got out 3 times over the weekend. Thanks to my great boss and great wife as well.

They both sensed I needed to get out and the boss insisted I take friday off. I fished all day till dusk and had a good one. I found a decent blitz first thing in Quincy Bay towards Moon Head and got off to a good start. Things moved up along the s side of Long Isl. It lasted several hours. Birds and fish everywhere... mostly bass, with just a few blues mixed in. Plastic, poppers 'n teasers, flies. When the frenzies subsided, the ledgerunners did the damage, but generally, the fish weren't picky.

Had 25 fish with 8 keepers, including my first keeper on a flyrod. I lost a knuckle buster on the flyrod. It was around 36". The fish hit close to the boat and just destroyed my knuckles on its first run. It shook the hook just as I was reaching for the leader. The fish were solid schoolies. Most fish were 24" and up... very fun.

There was a lull for a while and I found a few fish over at Peddock's Isl and landed one, then ran outside to check Deer Isl and Hull... there were some birds and fish around Allerton, but after getting a couple, the fish were small.

I ran back inside to Wollaston and things started to heat up here and there.

I got a nice 8-9lb blue. Then a nice 32" bass. Then all heck broke loose and there were fish everywhere. The last hour was probably the best fishing I've ever had. I lost the size with only one more legal fish, but it was just every cast with whatever I wanted to throw. Got a really nice blue close to 12lbs and had a double header of keepers on, but one broke off... of course, it was the fish on the plug that snapped. I even stopped to take a short video and some pictures of the blitzes.

I ended the day with 49 bass, 4 blues w/ 10 legal fish and that big blue that was a great fight (nice jumps). Easily my day of season, plus it was a great day weatherwise.

So with the twins sick, another full day was out of the question. Its hard even with both of us, but Karen was cool with me hitting it for a few hours Sat and Mon evening. I launched around 5pm both days.

Sat started really bad. Headed straight for Wolly and saw some birds. I caught a small blue and had to retie cause the leader was nicked. Then I threw a wind knot in my braided line, retied that, next cast a bird flew right into my line. It was so tangled up, I had to use the towel over the head trick and spent 5 minutes gettin' that mess undone. I hadn't put a charge on my trolling motor battery so I wasn't quite as mobile as I like. I set the hook on a fish and missed and the line became impossibly wrapped around the tip. It was pretty amazing.

I got straightened out and got back on some fish. A 31" bass settled me down and even though the blitz was nowhere near the night before, I got 6 more bass and another blue in 45 minutes. It was so quiet out there after the sun went down, it was kinda surreal.

Monday I ran over to Wolly again, but it was deserted. I hung around while and searched for bait and fish to see if I should just stay, but found nothing. I didn't have alot of time, so I ran outside to check Hull, then Deer Isl... shoulda gone straight to deer. With about 15 minutes of light left, I got to deer and there was all kinds of action. Again, my first bass was a keeper, then my next cast I hooked a good fish. After a sweet fight, I thought I had the fish beat and reached back for my liplock, the fish ran under the boat and sliced the line on the hull. I was really po'd 'cause I'd lost the one on friday too.

I know we all have are own definition of big fish, but when I'm throwin' light tackle and artificials, a mid-teen to 20lb fish is big.

Then the fish got small, but I caught 5 more bloated schoolies and had a cool ride home with the city all lit up and clear skies.

I was pretty down on the fall run a couple weeks ago, but from what I've experienced and what I've seen off Wollaston Beach on my way home each day, its been goin' strong.

I wish I had the time to grab some eels and hit the south shore at night. I'm sure some big fish are pushing thru now with all these fish.

PS... NOTARO, you're mom is right. Do your work. You're education is more important than fishing right now. You get the education, then establish your career and then you have the time and resources to fish and get all the toys to go with it.

Nothing for me, had to cover work for the two managers that I let go on vacation this weekend!
Off today, but I'm having radon work done to the house, then off to Newton to sign the lease on my new apartment in two hours.:D
Was going to go tomorrow, but weather looks bad!!!
Since I'm moving in two weeks, guess I should be getting going on the packing.
Probably won't hear from me much till after November 1st.
Later,
Rick

Screeming NE 15-25, small craft advisory, driving rain, typical October weather.

These fish have no right being here, but they were..BIGTIME!

10 bass over 25#'s in three hours. Tight is right!

30 minutes to the islands at dusk and 2 1/2 hours to get back at midnight.

Same thing sunday from the beach 32#'s

Monday was slow at the canal few blues. Great AM tides later in the week!
