When bloo and I visted Cutty Hunk last month we noticed surf casters staying at the Striper Fishing Club. John, I was thinkin(scary I know)....the club would be the perfect place to stay next september;). Has anyone here rented there? I figure if we where to get the ball rollin for next year then reservations should be made. What do you think?

...if this post sleeps again, I guess it'll just be you and me kid :D....and maybe I won't forget my wading boots this time...:smash: ...walking around on Cutty's rocks in panty-hose ain't too much fun ya know...

...I wonder how much space Cuttyhunter (Slater) had in that palace on the hill ??? If the S-B turn-out is what I expect, he may have room for the 5 of us. :laughs: ...yeah, I'm guessing only 5 will make it. IF THAT!~

MacoJo...

There are Slips available for $20 p/day I believe. Goose pulled right up to the docks....5 minute walk to the registration booth. 30 seconds from the fish :D:D

My recommendation for housing is the Avalon (where we have the awards cookout). It's a classic and is cheaper than the Fishing Club which is located in front of the Avalon on the bluff. The Avalon is more informal in that you have use of the big kitchen and you share bathrooms (there are around ten baths). No meals are prepared for you. The Fishing Club does some meals for you. I can give you the contact info for both when needed. Alternatively, you can rent a house which isn't too expensive that time of year if you have enough people. Typically, almost all of the off-island competitors do house rentals.

Goose,

Haven't been to Cuttyhunk since a five-day weekend over Colombus Day. The fishing was pretty good then with one great morning from shore. The Northeast wind blew all weekend at 15-25 kts. Not my favorite. I managed a 38" 17# bass among other smaller ones. Saw/heard of a few other 20-30#ers caught but mostly 25-32" schoolies. Not one blue. There were several crews of hardcore surf fisherman. Fun meeting some of these guys. One group from NY has been coming to the island for 30+ years every Fall. Some good stories. Started that long weekend in South County with a great early morning off Quonny. See attached pic...

Hey Bill,

I can see that the house has taken up a bit of your online time:D

What you got going for this weekend???
