Needed a reel for partyboat bottom fishing off the Frances boats and 7Bs here in RI. Senators are a bit heavy for the seabass fishing, needed a combination deep water seabass/cod fishing reel that may not have all the features but is cheap and can take a beating.
Picked up a Penn Seaboy 190 for $35, 300 yds. 30#mono....reel seems simple but rugged, and very light. My friend is giving me a Penn stout rod with roller tip to match it.....do you think this will suit my needs? (small-medium cod, u kno how they are here in RI not that great) and deep water seabass
Also anyone have any experience with these reels?
thanks!:D

350 yards 30 # test 3.5 to1 ratio somewhere around $35.00 bucks . Should be all you need for a cheap outfit
Good luck
