I few weeks ago I finally acquired a Lip-Lock 50# scale. The only problem I have had has been carrying it while on the beach. The Rhody boys showed me how they lock it onto their belt then use one of those small caribeaners to hold the other end. I am concerned that carrying it like this will not be so good for it to be submerged in the water frequently. I have been stuffing it down the front of my waders, but have found it to be too uncomfortable and it restricts my movement. Anyone got any other ideas for how to carry it while out on the beach?

I think a nice sheath like a medival sword on your back, handle sticking up over your shoulder...

I got one with a scale as a gift and i have it velcroed onto my surf bag across the back. My surf bag is actually a plano that can be velcroed to bycycle handlebars. Instead of using the velcro on the handle bars , I put them around the lipgrip thing. I think its nice cause of the 50 LB scale. I fished many decades without one so its not essential gear but its nice.

Redlite...I have had my boga on the carbiner and a phone cord with some zip ties attached to my belt for 2 years now...no rust, no damage...so far...just be sure to wash it off thoroughly and give it a dose of wd-40 when you're cleaning your gear after a night out, it'll hold up. I'll be seeing you on the rocks tomorrow man.

I've got a cheapo berkley lip grip tethered like TBone's method and I tuck it under the wader belt in back (outside the waders). No problems.

Redlite. i had a freind of mine sew a pouch that holds mine, along with my leatherman, and a hook out. will show it to you next time we hook up.did you manage to get those 40's on it?had trouble weighing that 35 on mine.have a good winter .

Think I figured out a solution.
On my way out the door the other night, I saw the leather carrying sheath for my tin snips. Holds it perfectly and it doesn't slap my arse as i walk. Seems to be ok. Just gonna have to remember to wash and lube it on a regular basis.

Buy a bogagrip and a holester, but don''t forget to clean it on every trip and do not diassemble and reassemble it. I lost a spring because of that. Hose it down with freshwater and saturate it with a WD-40.

redlite. go to a dive shop and get a gear retractor like this one. it fits right on you belt and can hold up to 85#'s dead weight. you can attatch the mouth of the lip-loc to your belt to keep it out of the way. i have been using this for my bogas for several seasons now.
