I know there is no such thing as a dumb question :smash: but I am wondering if there is any diferrance between a 1/8th thruwire hole and a 3/16th other than 1/16 less of wood.
View Full Version : Dumb thruwire Question bspice13 11-14-2003, 09:17 PM I know there is no such thing as a dumb question :smash: but I am wondering if there is any diferrance between a 1/8th thruwire hole and a 3/16th other than 1/16 less of wood. Christian 11-14-2003, 11:25 PM i use both, but like the 3/16 more than the 1/8th. in some wood if it is grainy i dont like using the 1/8 because i think it gets caught in between the grain and grabs the grain and veers off center. the 3/16 is less likely to do that. also 1/16th inch wire doubled up is a little hard to get in the 1/8 whole especially with the use of a grommet that makes the whole a tiny bit smaller. thats what i think.:) blackeye 11-15-2003, 01:42 AM drill an 1/8 and don't use a gromet-no problems in three years. The key to getting a straight hole is go reeaall slooooow and clear the bit as often as possible-this will cut down on the bit wandering. I still screw up one outta three though vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
