For every minute I have to work
I need a minute of play
Day in day out all week long
Things go better with rock
The only time I turn it down
Is when I'm sleepin it off
Turn up the radio
I need the music, gimmie some more
Turn up the radio
I wanna feel it got to gimmie some more
nuther awsome song to blast-

bud8fan 11-28-2003, 10:50 PM Wow a Hair Band!!!
OK guys!! Show your age!! What era were you in?
I was just getting out of highschool when the "Hair Band" craze started to ROCK!!!
i graduated in 87,so take a guess:) played in a couple of bands in the mid to late 80's.not into the glamour bands( warrent, winger.poison and the likes) but liked the stuff that at the time, had a bit more edge to it.priest, maiden, accept, metallica, msg, tesla, and dokken were a few that we played alot of.still listening to such childish music to this day:D
guzz
bud8fan 11-29-2003, 12:49 AM No your talkin' Guzz!!
I being 5yrs your senior but still grew up on the same tunes your talkin' about!
Dont forget Malmstein and Satriani !! I saw Ozzy with Randy Rhodes!!!
bassmaster 11-29-2003, 12:53 AM good taste in tunes.
ok who got a marshall bottom or amp out here
bassmaster 11-29-2003, 12:56 AM http://acplink.com/chassis/display.aspx?curpage=34
bud8fan 11-29-2003, 01:16 AM Dave,
Both my brothers were in an original/cover hair band.
My youngest brother played the drums(he had a huge Tama set on a rack). My other bro was the lead guitarist and had a retubed Marshall(forget the name of the guy but he was on the west coast). He had a vintage Les Paul Custom as well as a few Ibanez Steve Vai style guitars. They might have gone places if not for getting married and having kids young!
bassmaster 11-29-2003, 01:46 AM Me play in original bands and cover B too...
You see the movie with stevie V in it cross roads.
see Stevies axe??
the one band i was in we played black star off of malmsteins first albulm.i think it was marching out.i couldn't handle those riffs, especially at the speed needed to pull off malmsteins stuff.the guy that played lead in that band was one heck of a guitarist.he was heavily influenced by michael schenker, and gary moore.
i remeber the first time i heard surfing with an alien.satch boogie blew my mind.i also liked how all of the songs on his first three albulms were all instruementals.his stuff was definitely geared towards six string junkies.
what did you guys think of nuno bentencourt? the guitarist for extreme.ya ever hear the song play with me? he actually takes some classic beetoven(sp?) and grinds them out into metal licks:eek:
guzz
bassmaster 11-29-2003, 02:17 AM Guzz I still got tab from malmstein and I tink Joe sat still and RR
nuno is cool:)
You here malmstein do his his solo? he does the 5th take off in it
what U got for an electric twanger?
Tagger 11-29-2003, 08:27 AM need a drummer ? I used to play everywhere..Rat, Boston Club,(Paradise)White Sands,3 Copperman,Beachcomber, did a showcase with Cap'NSwing in Hull at Casey's later turned out to be the Cars,,bunch more..I still got set of old Gretch next to me ...and Ampeg VT22...I Liked Zappa ,not the goofy lyrics,,The odd timing and weird keys.. The good old days...glad I lived through them ...
fishweewee 11-29-2003, 08:27 AM BM  Yngwe? :laughs:
Don't you guys remember Quiet Riot and AC/DC?
bassmaster 11-29-2003, 09:51 AM we can call us the old pharts :D
come on feel the noise
Hey tagga, they don't want a drummer who played in the 50's:laughs: :laughs:
Christian 11-29-2003, 12:36 PM plug building band anyone?:laughs:

TheRattBoy 11-29-2003, 08:53 PM No surprise here, one of my all time hair favorites= RATT, saw 'em a bunch of times( class of 85 here).I'm lost in the 80's, that's what I buy these days on cd.Guzz, Nuno comes from the next town over from me,he is an incredible musician.I wish that type of guitar was popular today, today it's just noise.Took my 9 yr old to see Maidien and Dio, no boy bands here!johnny "the Ratt Boy"
bud8fan 11-29-2003, 09:45 PM Just heard a rumor on the radio driving home from work!!
Van Halen======Hagar REUNION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now thats what I am talkin' about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hear ya on the new music these days! Take's alot of getting used to! Not like the 80's where you heard it the first time and said ???? Then the second time it kicked your AZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!
Some of the newer musicians look more like factory workers than musicians! Not that there is a stereotype or anything??:smash: :smash:
TheSpecialist 11-29-2003, 09:55 PM Lets see I saw Bon Jovi twice this year, saw Kiss back in the 80's, SkidRow, Dokken. Ratt....... Man I miss the 80's.
justplugit 11-29-2003, 10:26 PM HAIR BAND ??????? Is that some kind of new fishin hat for women??????? :confused:confused:
nuno is a mass boy? wonder if he casts as well as he plays:) ahhhh, feels good to be in the company of a bunch of 80's metal band junkies.i was begining to think my woman and i were the last ones.as far as sterotyping the new bands, don't be afraid of being politically incorect dude,if you don't want to say it,it will.they suck!!!! hell, half of them don't even no how to play an instruement.
lot of ratt fans on this site huh.and for good reason i might add.warren de martini came up with some really smooth riffs.lay it down, lack of communication, and dance were are but a few of my favorites.
the original van halen stuff was killer.how many of you guys had the gold VH emblem or patch on the trusty beat up jean jacket :) how about the led clones? kingdom come, and white snake? they were definitley zep knock offs, but i still liked them.what about queensryche? kind of a heavier version of floyd.rage for order, the warning, and mindcrime were truely incredible albulms.everything after promise land sucked pretty bad though.their last good one was empire.and who could forget megadeath?
guzz

Well, I went home with the waitress
The way I always do
How was I to know
She was with the Russians, too
I was gambling in Havana
I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns and money
Dad, get me out of this
I'm the innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck
Between the rock and the hard place
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck
Now I'm hiding in Honduras
I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns and money
The chit has hit the fan
Send lawyers, guns and money...

What about the classics from the Stones, Sympathy for The Devil, Monkey Man, Heartbreaker
What about the solo Joe Walsh stuff?? Saw the Eagles this year , wife took me for my birthday, Joe got more standing O's for his solo stuff than the Eagles got all night.
Whitesnake, with a little Tawny sliding on the car, The Firm, too many great bands came out of the 70's and 80's

Bernzy,
JBI was the best opening band I had ever seen. They opened one night at the garden for J.Geils and they were awesome!
You should definitely check them out!
The next best opening I've seen was Joe Walsh for Foreigner...
I miss the Boston Garden for concerts and WCOZ in Boston!!!
My favorites growing up were Bad Co., The Who, Bob Seger,
38 Special, Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd and David Gilmore's earlier solo stuff!...
Sure do miss the music since those days!
