I have been an EMT-I and Fire Fighter for 12+ years, and have seen way too many dead, injured, and maimed(sp) people, caused by DRUNKS on the road. I would have definately called the police, and I would have followed the car, giving the cops updates on which way he was going, until they intercepted the moron. Just as a side note, I have seen a few situations where the individual acted totally bombed, but was a diabetic w/ low blood sugar. Either way, they should not be one the road!

I enjoy a good party as much as the next guy, sometimes way more than I should, but no matter what, I have the sense not to get behind the wheel. Too many times we hear of the drunk driver walking away unscathed while his unsuspecting victim is scarred for life or worse and the punishment doesn't fit the crime. That's just plain wrong. I might not have followed the person, but would have called someone just to report it. Even if it was a diabetic reaction or narcolepsy, even a heart attack and not booze at all, the life saved could be that of a friend or someone in my own family and I don't have enough of those as it is to be able to afford the loss of even one, especially had it been preventable.

My son, his friends, my brothers, sisters, parents etc, etc, are all on the road with this person. If I see it happen I will call the police and follow the fool.......again

Let's see, when did I totally loose patience with drunk drivers ?

Ah yes, 1983. Croosing the street near school with three of my friends at night. Car comes over the hill at a high rate of speed and looses control upon seeing us and takes out one of friends. Dead on the spot.........

Never had any patience for it from that day on. I cried for a long time and still do. It could have been any of us and should have NEVER happened.

To this day I have reported numerous. I live on Nantucket where from tourist to tradesman you see all the examples and the complete lack of responsibilty.

Complete Bullshiite........... :af:  :af:  :af:

I would dial 911 on my cell phone and tail the guy (assuming he was driving at a safe speed to begin with) until I saw red flashing lights in my rear view.

If the guy was being a total maniac, I'd just give a plate #, a description of the car and his direction of travel.
