Don't do it. You'll regret it when you get older and it looks like a big blurry mess.

i second that. i wont even tell you what my tattoo is but i cringe everytime i look at it. i got it 13 years ago and it was the dumbest thing i ever did. its your body do what you want but almost everyone i know with tat's regrets getting them. make sure you think it over:)

Christian, if you get one, make sure you can cover it up. A person who is interviewing you for a job might not look favorably upon a visible tattoo (like one on your hand). Keep it low key.

Christian, it probably sounds to you like all the old guys preaching for you not to do it. Well trust me, they're speaking from experience. All of mine are around 30 years old now and look like crap. Luckily, they can all be covered. You would think that in a day where most things seem to be more and more acceptable, there are still things like tats that are certainly frowned upon in certain situations. I can tell you as mentioned above that certain employers will not look favorably towards it. It doesn't matter so much when you're younger but someday you're going to be looking for a key job and you just don't want that to be a mark against you.
So, if you do decide to get one (or more) consider being able to cover them. I've never said that I didn't wish I got mine (5 total), but if I had it to do over, I probably wouldn't. Ther are better quality inks now but trust me, they all fade and look like sh#t in a few years.
Seems like every kid I see (girls and guys) are loaded with tats.

Be different. Make a statement and don't get them.;)

I don't have any, but I sort of turned over a new leaf recently and to reward myself am considering something small and inconspicuous. I want my wife to get one too, sort of a his and hers deal. But that's just me (actually, the new and improved me). I had heard once that if someone is considering a tattoo, give it a year from when you decided you wanted it and if in a year you still feel as strongly go for it. But without exception, heed what the others said about being able to cover it up. I know a guy who got a big tattoo of the Scrubbing Bubbles guy and it goes from his neck up to about his earlobe. Tell me, would you hire a guy with a Scrubbing Bubbles tattoo the size of a softball on his neck? Lotta dates, too!?

Ive got 3 and have had them for 27 years . mine look old but Im not ashamed of them and never wished I never did get them .

think it through thoroughly ! if after some serious thought you still want one . get it !

think of the cost too and about location because YES some people look down on people with tattoos . them damn biker types with their leather jackets , long hair and tattoos and filthy mouths . hey sounds like I described myself except I dont nor ever have owned a bike .

Just think it through thoroughly ! and enjoy it youll have it for ever .

RM, It's tough to explain, but in short, I just found myself in one of life's ruts (a deep one) and with the help of a loving wife and two great daughters pulled myself out, reminded myself my family is my priority, not where the next cold Bud's coming from. We quit smoking Monday. I don't know if I've ever been more in love or devoted this much to any three women in my entire life as I am right now. I'm thinking a tattoo would forever remind me, us, of that devotion and committment.

i'll never tell you to not get one, i have three, and would honestly get another if it were the right thing and for the right reason, but i do agree get it where you can hide it if necessary..

think long and hard and when you are ready and can accept that its going to be there FOREVER then you can do it..

just remember one thing, a tattoo may seem like it cost a lot to get, but they cost 5x-10x to remove them.. i had a friend go to remove one, and everytime he gets tanned you can see a ghost like image of the black panther he had on his bicept..

:smash: :smash: (this is what your mother will want to do to you, mine still complains and i am 33)

When it fades and all your friends can read is "ass-thumb" you'll have a lot of explaining to do :laughs:

I have a tattoo that I got when I was 18 and regret it. If I had the cash, I'd get it lazer zapped.

Tattoo plugs on the other hand are sweet!

when i come up with the money, i am getting a tat across my back. already have the mental image, just gotta get it finalized. it helps to have friends in the business. i just wish i was friends with them before i got my first two. one word of advice, if you don't know the person doing the work, make sure you shop around and look at their other pieces.

I got an eagle with the word ARMY on my left bicep when I joined the Army back in 1980 and the eagle is pretty faded now and I can't make it fly any more :( it is something that you should think long about. As for the one with the woman's chest on the arm. if you really want to do something about it. there are some artist that can fix things. maybe close the jacket and put a zipper up the front :)

I have four. I love them all, pretty much.
#1. Dead "Steal Yer face" on ball of shoulder
#2. Celtic armband on rt arm
#3. Aztec armband on left arm
#4. Chinese dragon across top of back
Think long and hard...all mine look pretty good still. I really don't like the dead or the tatoo, so I'm stuck with it.
When I want to talk dirty I hang out with Chris L. It's kind of funny, if you spilt his hair up among me, him, and Mikey, we'd all look normal.

Good Luck, get one for me.
Later,
Rick
