The Dad Fisherman 11-23-2003, 09:07 PM Thankful for Discovering Striper Fishing this year. Thankful for catching my 1st keeper on just my second time out ( granted it was only 29" but it was enough to start the addiction). Thankful for the patience my wife had. I fished more this year than in my prior 11 years of marriage combined. Also thankful for all of the people who have helped me with this sport over the year.
Next year I'll be thankful for landing my 1st over 30#er;)

BasicPatrick 11-25-2003, 12:14 AM Mr. MAcey
Your vocabulary reminds me of my own. Learned words from living a new way of life.;)
beachwalker 11-25-2003, 07:40 AM Thankful for my health and pray for the friends that left us this year. Fished with many of them and their memories are with me every time I hit the beach.
Thankful that I live in such a beautiful place with such great people all around. This old sand pile would be a pain in the but if it was a bunch of wankers........
Thankful that most people on this website are tolerant of the bizarre comments and loopy tangents I have been known to go off on. Ever since the brain transplant it has been harder to keep my thoughts in order.
Thankful for each day that passes and places us one day closer to the spring run on the Cape and Islands.
:)
Mr. Sandman 11-25-2003, 10:05 AM There are simply too many things I have to be thankful for. My top 3 are my family’s health, happiness and safety. We are so lucky to have been born here, have the quality of life we do, lifestyle and freedoms we all take for granted. We grow, catch and eat the best food in the world, have the highest water quality of any developed nation, and live and play in beautiful coastal surroundings. Despite what the rest of the world thinks of America and Americans, this IS the greatest country on earth, no question. I for one could not live anywhere else. Don't think so?...Just watch the world news some night and try to imagine living in anyplace like that.
With regard to fishing, I am simply thankful I can fish. I actually worry that someday I will not be able to do it any longer. I know older guys who don't surf fish any more because they physically can't and they really miss it. I know that might happen to me someday and it really concerns me. I took an 82 yo fellow who has not fished in years out bottom fishing for fluke this past summer...he said "you don't know what this means to me to be able to fish, this is the best day fishing I ever had."
Therefore, I fish a lot now because I know I can't do it forever.
Tight-Lines and Happy Thanksgiving
JohnR 11-25-2003, 11:15 AM Thanks to everyone!
And Thanks to my little buddy who turned three yesterday!
