Charlie -

I'm also looking at the 23 Pacific. I've been talkting to Jay Perotta at Black Lab Marine for awhile. The quote he gave me was for a Yamaha 225 4 stroke, and was a little steep for my economic status. What kind of performance are you getting with a Suziki 140?

Thanks,

Jamie

I have the 23 with the big Yammy. I think you are better off going with a lighter motor. With the S140, you can expect your moderate load top end to be 27-30 mph. Top end with the 225 is in the mid to high 30's. I do not like all the weight that the big 4 stroke adds. You absolutely have to get tabs if you go with the big motor (I reccomend them highly anyway). If you are worried about speed, go with a150 hpdi. They are reliable and efficient plus you will find your speed to be just about on par with the f225.

Congrats on the purchase - They are pissa tough fishing boats.

I did not realize you could get a Pacific in a painted finish. Looks real good.

I have a 16' tin boat and looking to upgrade next year. The 20 footer looks perfect.

Are they priced competitively?

Jeff:

You can get into their website at www.blacklabmarine.com, and on it you can request their prices, brochures, and a video of the boats. I got mine in just a couple of days.

Those things are pricey.

Jeff:

They don't have the price for the 20 foot package in the material I received, but the 19 footer--V19CC--with a Yammy 115 and Karavan bunk trailer, is #30,975 in the brochure.
