Then you are gonna get all you can shovel....or so they say! The stores are jammed with people stocking up for the big storm!:uhuh: I went down to Red Top to pick up a few Habs 2 oz. blurple needlefish plugs to get me through the weekend......and they were the only thing that sold faster than shovels!:laugha: :hihi: :laugha: Just kidding...I am gonna find shovels today easier than I will find a Habs needlefish. All reports say we are gonna get blasted, the snow fall totals are rising by the hour! I guess I will just hunker down and spend the weekend on S-B.:bounce: :jump: :hf1: :jump1: :biglaugh: :kewl:

Just you wait, the best is yet to come. We got an easy 5-6" fluffy and pretty on top, wet and heavy on the bottom. Still coming down at a pretty good clip. Still no plows in sight, so the town must think we got more to come or they'd be clearing the secondary streets. Oh well, driveway's done for wave one, got a fire roaring, Harpoon Winter Warmer and Sam Adams Winter Lager chilling in the garage and the cheesesteaks are done and warming on the oven waiting for my victim to chow down (oops, that was a thread from another forum!?!?).

Theres this blue heron hanging out at the waters edge in my backyard for the last couple weeks.
He just stands there, all day. Every day.
Now he's there tonight.
Whats he doing, standing there at night, in the middle of blizzard?

If he gets any closer, Ill have to kill him.

How come when ever it snows and you go to the store you see everyone buying as much as bread as they possibly can fit into a grocery cart? No peanut butter, no jam, no cold cuts, just bread??

MrsSFrances
12-06-2003, 10:26 AM
Steel I often think the same thing, I went grocery shoppin yesterday, and it was NUTS in there....I never panic...But people see the snow and think OH MY GOD!!!! we are going to be snowed in for a month...Hurry go buy bread and milk!!!

And then there are people like me who go out to do the NORMAL shoppin and have to fight with people for a dang loaf of bread....:af:

I stood in line for almost an hour at the store...:eek5:

Rained all night and all 5"is gone (it was 45 deg until very early this morning). It is 37 degrees out and raining with slushy snowflakes thrown in. Temperature is supposed to steadily drop (vineyard is 30 and snowing). Us and the outer cape might get anywhere from 1-6". It's gonna change over to all snow any hour now.

This is the backdoor, I guess. Cold air spinning around the backside of the low. Winds are now NW 40-50 and they are supposed to get stronger. Always the chance of losing power on days like this :(

The word is that some of you got some big snow. Many Vt and NH ski areas are reporting 2-3' this morning. Sweeeeet.:D

I don't know if I can hold out much longer. The boat has run about 3 of the last 9 days. Have a res for Wednesday night with a Friday return. Work, unfortunately. All my dreams of fishing on LI is going up in smoke. Winds are looking to be firm but hopefully not to. I'll just run out of time and energy.

I just keep working and smiling. Kind of bummed about the backside snow. I golf a little and kinda wish the course would have stayed clear. It is now but it doesn't look to be good golf weather :laughs:

Boredom ain't so bad. I had a fun dream last night that I caught a 30-40lbish fish on an eel in one of our brackish ponds.

About a foot and a half here in Abington, blowing and drifting like I have not seen in years! Last night was the worst I have seen since the blizzard of 78! White out conditions so bad I could not see the tree 10' outside my window! Lost power about 10:30 and was worried about how long it would be out? A tree limb came down on the wires across the street from me. Power was restored about 2:00 am which was good because the temp in the house was down to 60 degrees. Still snowing to beat the band here, and blowing....lots of heavy looking branches! Gotta go cook breakfast while we still have power!

Shovel as little as possible. Pray for rain. You know the drill. I don't even own a snow shovel anymore. Broke friggin 2 of them LAST friggin winter. If this is the set-up for most of the winter then I'll take it. Let em have their snow. We want rain !
