BigBo 01-01-2004, 10:07 PM The Cabo PT's look pretty sweet. Except for a little higher price, could give ABU's a run for their money. A few nice features to justify the extra cost though like the stronger frame and side plates, etc. Parts availability might be the biggest issue though. I wouldn't mind checking them out.
mikecc 01-01-2004, 10:15 PM I will have the larger sizes in the shop and online hopefully by Mid Feb.
Mike P 01-01-2004, 10:45 PM Based on my past experience with Quantum, I'd hold off until some positive feedback came in, after a season of hard use.
JohnR 01-02-2004, 12:05 AM I'm mixed on the Quantums - I have a Big Iron 410 baitcaster and the things always solid - plus I know someone that got a 53#er on one so they can handle big fish. Problem I had with them was parts... I Broke the levelwind pawl cap and could not get the parts - they said I needed to ship the reel back :rollem:
ragfly 01-03-2004, 06:17 PM Doesn't look like they have a water proof drag system:(
Notaro 01-04-2004, 01:46 AM QUANTUM?!? :yak:

What MikeP said...AGAIN! :hihi:
chris L 01-04-2004, 09:12 AM I have a couple freshwater quantums but I would be leary of them in the salt . Id wait for someone else to give it a real good run in the salt before Id consider them . but thats just me !
tlapinski 01-04-2004, 09:40 AM i was watching the fishing show that shaw grisby hosts yesterday morning. he was fishing from a boat using the new quantum PT spinners and convench's. they were targeting small school tuna. the reels performed extremely well! i liked how these new reels looked when i first saw them in a cataolog, but was leary about using a quantum. if i had a need for another conventional, i would give serious thought to them. quantum can't be all bad, after all, as they are owned by Van Zebco.......
chris L 01-04-2004, 09:46 AM get that freaking mellon off your cats head . its not right ! cats dont eat mellon .
fishweewee 01-04-2004, 09:52 AM I think it's a lime.
Sourpuss. :hihi:
put the lime on the kitty kat an eat it all up.
Mike P 01-04-2004, 01:25 PM Toby---I think Jeff used to have a Quantum Iron. He and #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& got theirs about the same time, as I recall. I think he told me it was a decent reel "for one season" ;)
tlapinski 01-04-2004, 01:39 PM doesn't Flaptail throw quantum irons?
TheSpecialist 01-04-2004, 07:10 PM I have used a 4000 sized Quantum Kinetic 2 seasons now and have had no problems. I may try one.
Skitterpop 01-04-2004, 07:56 PM Yup...remember his post for the canal
