First off thanks Slip and JohnR. I had a good time and am glad I went today. It was nice to talk with other builders and exchange ideas. For anybody I talked to I hope I was of some help and look forward to seeing some of your creations. Food was awesome (could have fed 2 more armies), conversation great as was seeing some other builders creations.

Had a great time today at the "Plug Fest"! Had the opportunity to meet so many of the people from here on the site and it was a pleasure meeting all of you! I would like to send a special "Hello" out to MacoJoe's daughter, a very nice young lady who obviously enjoys fishing with her Dad, and by the way her face lit up when MJ mentioned Scup fishing, I could tell she really enjoyed doing that with her Dad and that was nice to see. Good for you MJ, really nice kid there. Thanks to Slipknot for putting it all together and giving me a little lesson in plug building, and thanks to JohnR for everything, it was a great day! Also, special thanks to Christian for the gift of a Wonderbread colored "Wonder Needle" that he gave me with his signature on it, it really meant alot to me and I don't know if I can really fish it as it was such a nice gesture. Thanks again Christian and it was great talking with you and your Dad and I am looking forward to a trip to the Race with both of you this up coming season. Thanks again to all, really a great time!

I want to thank everyone. I had a great time at the plug fest. I met a few people, Missing link, Jr. link, Christians father, and Bigfish. Yes, i do like scup fishing. Over the summer my father and I decided to go get a few scup because we were not getting a lot of fluke. About every 2-5 minutes we were catching scup. It was great i really enjoyed it. I cant wait maybe we can all hook up and go fishing this summer. Then i can teach you guys to fluke fish as good as me. LOL. Thanks again.

Hey everyone! Big thanks again for coming overtoday and making a schweet day ruining wood and showing off your stuff! It never ceases to amaze me!

Also huge thanks to both Slip & Slip's better half, Melissa. Slip did a tremendous job putting today together and Melissa truly helped out and did a great job runnin' the table (and bringing the brownies  ). Everyone give a big applause to The Slips...

I'm trying to get my kid to go to sleep so no long-winded posts from me today :rollem: but I do want to thank Got Stripers, #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&, Newell Guy, Backbeach Jake, Gloucster, Tim Su, errr, WeeWee :laughs: , Flaptail and the folks over at OTW, Armand, and everyone else that donated to the door prizes and raffle table... I know there were some stoked people after winning that stuff. Thanks to BM & Slip for the demonstrations for actually turning wood. Thanks to those that helped set up and clean up...

I also want to sincerely thank all of you people that are such hot chits to make this site what it is, just a nice, comfortable, honest place to hang out and talk fishing, get together, and schtuff. You all deserve a round of applause too!

And great food too! We never go hungry at one of these...

Thanks!!!!

well there will always be a few that won't go out in less then a 30 footer with all coustom rods, and all kinds of flshing stuff, only to coime home and say they weren't bitting today! Spending tons of cash on fuel & Beer

I bet I don't spend $50 a day to go out!! Thats gas for boat and truck. Any rod will work, but I build my own.

Its only as expencive as you want it to be!

I no guys that go out all summer long and never get a thing!! They come home with a bucket of Scup and say we had a great day!!

Thanks Slip and John for putting this together. I had a great time and enjoyed talking to everyone, and meeting some new people.

I don't remember who I was talking to about bottle darters (NIB?) - we were trying to remember the manufacturer -
"North Bar Tackle".

Again, thanks everyone. The quality of the plugs I saw yesterday was impressive.

That really was a great gathering, thanks Slip and John for doing this. It was cool to be able to see and hold the plugs made by members, absolutely outstanding stuff!

Also thanks to the guys who brought some of their vintage collection to look at and BS over :kewl:

Food was great, company was better. Good to meet some more of the south county crew. Came home with a bunch of stuff to sneak into the basement :humpty:

Tru-dat. Words of wisdom right there Joey. Just because the 'pro' said to use this and that... doesn't mean that's the only way. You don't need a new rod and reel for each kind of fish in the sea. Fluke fishing is often as simple as getting the baited hook in front of the fish. At my favorite fluke spot from shore lots of Jamaican(I think) guys fish with hand lines. They whip em around in a circle or cast them off of empty 2 liter soda bottles. They do almost as well as me :D I just use of one my freshie rods.
