TheRattBoy 01-07-2004, 06:04 PM Larry, Nice fish(and a nice lookin jeep too).Weren't you in there last season with a bass on the scale at Blackbeards too? It's over now, you're known, all the wannabe's will be following you around. And if I remember correctly (from meeting you at MSBA plugnight) you're a TALL guy , so that fish is even bigger than you make it appear.Well done,:) johnny "the Ratt Boy"
Slingah 01-07-2004, 06:06 PM nice fish:D
BigFish 01-07-2004, 06:11 PM Must have been Paul at Blackbeards! I went to Blackbeards that morning to weigh it in but his scale was busted. So, I went to Goose Hummock to weigh it in. It actually weighed 29 lbs 8 oz. (Missed it by that much) Paul took the picture for me because I was fishing alone and I like to keep a photo of my fish! Biggest fish I got last year.....not exactly what I was looking for but I was pleased! Funny thing was, I was renting a house in Wellfleet and I was down there by myself that night. The Red Sox were just beginning to blow game seven to the Yankees and the tide was high at midnight or 1:00 am so rather than sit there and watch Grady make history....I headed for the beach as scheduled according to tide. Got there and there were a couple sharpies there with same size fish, walked past them made a few casts and hooked that one. Just after I beached it, Redlite showed up and the bite had died, so we decided to hit a couple other spots with no luck! Nice fish though and it beat the hell out of watching the Sox that night! When Redlite showed up he told me the Sox did lose so I was happy I went out fishing! Thanks Christian for posting picture.:kewl: Fish looks like I jammed a 2 by 4 down its throat though!
BigFish 01-07-2004, 06:14 PM Oh...by the way, I caught that fish ummmm......not at Ballston but aahhhhh....uummm....Race Point, yeah thats it!:wall:

BigFish 01-08-2004, 11:01 PM Just for the record, not me giving the boat guys the rub! Just got my copy of The Fisherman and had a look. Pretty cool! Nice to have a little early January "Glory" to warm me up a little.:bounce: I am a surf guy through and through, got sand running through my veins but always a good time getting out on a boat and doing some fishing with the boat guys who do it all the time. BasicPatrick and Capt. Mike from Ave Maria charters can tell you a funny story about a guy they know who fishes the surf and spent a day fishing with Capt. Mike on the Ave Maria....right guys? I am not too good at fishing from a boat, not really comfortable because of my size! I need a little more room to roam than most people do!:ss: Fishing from a boat can be alot of fun though....right Fisherwoman?:kewl:
BasicPatrick 01-09-2004, 01:06 AM Slingah, you see, he does not deny it is the lurkers fish.:laughs:
The brush is pretty slow this month but Feb looks to be gettin quite busy.
The chick...i mean lurker needs to stop polishing those reels and come defend his partner:cool:
shore manic 01-09-2004, 02:17 AM let's see i am the official lurker for all!!!!~ that don't know me !! I"d like to say congrats bigfish, that's a beauty and don't care what type fish it is!!! I know you, and have met you fishing before.... they never should have put your MUGG on there :laughs:

shore manic 01-09-2004, 02:25 AM yeah, that didn't post right,i see your picture on here, and know you? kingston#! 1973?
Crafty Angler 01-09-2004, 07:12 AM Hey, BF, just having fun with ya - that is a nice fish.
It's great gettin' a full page photo with your catch in the Fisherman, too :btu:
I fish from the rocks 99.5% of the time, but as far as boat fishing goes, catching fish beats the hell outta not catching fish any day of the week.
beachwalker 01-09-2004, 08:19 AM Bugfish,
And to top it off your film "Bigfish" opens today !
Dude, you are a superstar.
Do they put a star at the Ditch walk of fame ?
:)
beachwalker 01-09-2004, 08:21 AM And Crafty.....
I am with you 100%. I am a beach guy who gets in a boat once in a while. Boat fishing is fun and very efficient.
That is why more fish come out of a boat. Not because it is cheating.
Some people don't get it.....
N
BigFish 01-09-2004, 09:35 AM Thanks Shore Manic and Beachwalker and Crafty Angler for the kind words. Much appreciated!:kewl: Poor BasicPatrick....try as you might I do not think you will get "Joe the Lurker" to come on board (though I think if you put a thread up trying to get him to come out, he just might)! I have tried to get him to sign on but he is a little stand offish! He likes to see whats going on though!
Moose Nuckle 01-09-2004, 01:29 PM Hey Big Fish,
As a Team Sea Monkey member I like surf fishing to. We do have several members that go all the time. The Sea Monkey himself went to the great state of RI to a special spot and cought over 25 stripers last night. That's not a fish story!!! It's TWRUE, iT'S TWRUE..          :jump: :jump: :jump: :wiggle:
