OK - here is the whose coming and what to bring thread for the Second Annual “Striped-Bass.com Too Friekin’ Cold to Fish Night” :D . For those that don't know, the Too Friekin Cold to Fish Nite is an awesome party / fundraiser that keeps the site open and free. We did it last year and it was a true blast by all that participated. It also kept the site up and running with no annoying popup ads and :spam: :D . Door tickets and Raffle table proceeds from that on night go a LONG way to run the site for most of a year (thanks again for that :D ). It's also a great way to reduce the cabin fever that has a death grip on many come late winter.

As stated in the other thread - we have a hall in Fairhaven, Ma (not CT Chris :rollem: ) that is across the street from a Holiday Inn (highly recommended). What we do is try to get people to bring a dinner dish, desert, an appetizer, or condiments / paper & plastic (forks & knives).

We set up a buffet style and let people, well, buffet...

The Bar is adjacent to the hall so drinks are available if anyone wants to imbibe.

Entertainment last year had Rappin' Mikey dancing for us but suffering from Lack-o-knee will likely save us this year :) ... Seriously, working on how we'll do entertainment.

We will have a raffle table - hopefully as good or better than last year (and that kicked arse!)

I have a small treat to show off for people :hihi:

I don't know if Fish_Eye is even in town for another show but I'll call him this week - but does anyone have another suggestion??

Tickets will be like last year, $10 single or per legit couple (significant others, not fishin' buddies :rollem: :laughs: )

So whose going and what will you bring? Suggestions? Comments?

1) Me & the Bride a/k/a TheBetterHalf - will bring Shepards Pie & Chicken Pot Pie

I am honored to be the first one to reply! My wife makes a killer stir fried noodle with pork and green onions. I asked her if she'd be willing to cook up a bunch and she said sure.
I'm not sure if she will be joining me or not, she'll be 7 mos pregnant then and not too excited about going out.
Im definatley in!

I will be there, maybe the girlie, too.
I'll probably be making the Chicken, Broccoli, and Penne with the white truffle oil again.
Only shortcoming we had last year was lack of plates, silver and napkins (just as important as the food).
Later,

John -

I'm gonna try to attend, but I don't think Mrs. Angler will wanna go - I may bring a mystery guest, but it certainly wouldn't be under the couple ruling. :laughs:

If I do come I'll bring some of Uncle Ed's Extra Dry Blackfish chowder (that would be titog soup to you MA folks) :hihi: and some plastic bowls.

Either way I will put something together for ya to raffle for the site and I'll talk to ya about it when I see ya at the NCSWFC meeting this Thursday nite.

01-23-2004, 11:18 AM
John, I have an idea for some of the entertainment.

I have a video Vinyardblues got me that has some old movies on surfcasting and fishing for stripers from 1946, shows equipment, catching cows, beach buggy of the era, footage of Montauk and Cuttyhunk and Coot Hall. Classic stuff, I could bring a 32" tv and a DVD/VCR along if you want. The movies are kinda short, but really unique.
Let me know.

Bliz
01-23-2004, 11:20 AM
We could run a line out from the TV and patch it through the sound system ... :D

Great idea Slip! :)
