View Full Version : Colorado blades?
Surfster 01-11-2004, 03:37 PM I see some of you guys using Colorado blades for lips on Surfsters and such. I finally found them in the Netcraft catalog. Now I'm just trying to decide on size. The #7 looks to be about right. I plan on using them on 2.5oz Surfsters that are about 6.25"oal and 1.4" in dia. Am I on the right track or do I need bigger / smaller?
Thanks

John E 01-13-2004, 04:53 PM Just wondering if you guys have seen the "chopper" blades in Stamina and what you thought about them. Sizes are limited but they look promising.
Surfster 01-13-2004, 06:43 PM These were nickle plated. Smooth or hammered , yer choice.
Moores is supposedly having surfster lips made soon.
We will see.
That will be good. I was going to ask #^&#^&#^&#^& about making some when I called in my next order.

Did up a couple Amazon ripper type plugs with those for a musky fishing friend. Those things scream when coming through the water :D

Slipknot 01-14-2004, 08:56 AM I wish I had some surfster lips :(
Diamond Tackle 01-14-2004, 11:12 AM one thing i will promise is once i get it done, there will be no shortage of these lips. It takes time to make a good die.
What guage are they going to be? 20 maabee:)
Diamond Tackle 01-14-2004, 11:36 AM good question
i can run any thincknes you want once the die is set up, its not a problem. but were probably going with #304 stainless in .030"- .032" thickness. That sound ok?
That sounds like it. I think 20 ga. is .030. Thanks
capesams 01-14-2004, 12:54 PM they have to be heavy, cause there's no lead in surfsters. they relyed on the weight of the lip to do the work.

20 gauge is .0359" so if your are working with .030" to .032" stainless you really have 22 or 21 gauge, respectfully. :D
