View Full Version : Hmmmm Maks anyone
RI Popper 01-19-2004, 08:05 PM Here is a pic of a new long thin plug I call a Needle Popper. It is 9" without the hooks. When the macks are running in the canal. This will be murder. Sorry about the pics. I have the worst digital camera and even worst pic skills.
:) Let me know if there are any ideas
missing link 01-19-2004, 08:06 PM nice!!!
Jr Link
RI Popper 01-19-2004, 08:07 PM Another view even worst pic. LOL:happy:
Christian 01-19-2004, 08:13 PM nice:D
goosefish 01-19-2004, 08:15 PM Nice little stickbait RI Popper.
Surfster 01-19-2004, 08:16 PM There's an idea! We get a quick run of tinkers off the south shore around here in the late spring. Those would work no doubt!
Problem is they are usually just out of casting distance of mack flavored swimmers. Something like you got weighted in the arse will work nice at first light.
Nice work!
RI Popper 01-19-2004, 08:22 PM Surfster, I didn't add any weight to the hiney, but That's an idea. but then it would need to be ripped through the water. Is that cool for the run?
Backbeach Jake 01-19-2004, 09:44 PM I'm stealing that design! I love it!!
justplugit 01-19-2004, 11:21 PM Looks like it would cast like a rocket. Nice colors!:)
RIROCKHOUND 01-20-2004, 11:00 AM Put a spook like nose on them and you have a spoodle, no joke, I made some last year at ~7-8" and ~3/4" around... nice side to side action....
RI Popper 01-20-2004, 11:50 AM Rockhound I think this would still walk the dog even with the cupped mouth.
RIROCKHOUND 01-20-2004, 12:25 PM with the unweighted tail it probably will swing a bit... weighted tail will throw a mile, what does it weigh now?
RI Popper 01-20-2004, 02:58 PM that would be 2.1
RIROCKHOUND 01-20-2004, 03:08 PM my 0.02 would be to put ~ .3 -.5oz in the tail, so with hooks it ends up around 3oz... good weight for that length... One worry would be pinwheeling with out a tail weight.. have ya chucked it yet? I like the concept though!:btu:
Hound, putting lead in the tail would help it avoid pinwheeling.
RIROCKHOUND 01-20-2004, 04:12 PM Thats what I'm sayin man... noone ever gets me :D :D
I think that plug, 9" or so, 3oz would be pissah, as long as it's tail waited... otherwise it's gonna throw like ca ca... too much windage if it doesnt cast butt straight....
Goose 01-20-2004, 04:15 PM I like it Armen, can I get a second in lime green?
RI Popper 01-20-2004, 07:35 PM wellllll arrangements might be made :) It's a tad over 2oz with the hooks. Unless I stuff the center hole aft with extra SSwire maybe add 1/2 oz. Last year one very similar to that one caught a tourny winner at cape cod. 45.7 pound striper. :) I got a beautiful pic of it.
Mike P 01-20-2004, 09:08 PM It doesn't take a lot to keep a weighted plug on top in the Canal current. Gibbs Canal Specials sink like a rock but they plane fine once you get them back to the surface.
Nice Work Armand!
Let me know when these hit the shelves!
Also, I may want to add one to the Plug Project Display for the unique design! :btu:
Let me know if you're interested.
