That smell when a striper has been landed? I almost forgot that smell until today.
It had been pretty uneventful. Went to the "jetty" took a look around, made about 2 dozen casts from the marina to the jetty. Lit up a cigar and hit the beach shortly after only to be chased away by a lifeguard. I was informed that I couldn't fish on the beach. I told her I was out of the swimming area and she said I was in the "boating area". The place where sailboats get launched. Finally I got the guts to walk down to the reef. Got down there, and there were bass and shad breaking all over. A few fly guys around and a couple spinning guys. Saw some guys land some 20"+ bass. I got one around 16 on a Krocodile spoon. I really just caught the end of it. Then I recieved two more holes in my waders and I decided to call it day.
It was nice to get one on the line. Boat reports say they are catching 4-6lb blues on umbrella rigs not too far out. The action is heating up.
