Hey Folks,

Lookin' to pick up an electric space heater for the bonus room, over the garage but I don't know anything about them.

Could anyone with any knowledge / experience with these heaters please give comments / suggestions?

Thanks and stay warm!

Rob

BTW:
I'm looking at the Black & Decker Ceramic Heater and a "heater fan" of theirs. Anyone seen these?

I use an oil filled electric radiator in my office and even in this cold stuff it keeps it nice and cozy.

If it says Black & Decker......... stay away

Like GS I use an oil filled radiator. Once the room is warm (few days) the heat can be lowered to maintain. If you shut it off you will have to repeat heating the room again. What I mean is its easier to keep it warm once the walls etc are warmed than shutting it on & off.

heaters use less electricity and even in a power outage will be dispensing heat... (for awhile) plus they dont start getting smelly from dust acumulation on the heating element as well as not being a fire hazard.:btu:

I like the little ceremic heaters. If its a big space your going to be cold unless you run multiple ones. Also awesome but illegal in MA are the Kerosene convection heaters.Use K-1 and need no power and they will heat good sized area.( like 30,000 btu*s)Only get the kero smell when first starting or shutting down.Run about 12 hrs on a fill(couple of gallons)
