View Full Version : SB Tourney Sign-up!!
JohnR 05-29-2001, 02:39 PM OK, here it is, the first leg of the Striped-Bass.Com First annual C&R Shore Tourney signup. I'm looking for a relative list of those who plan to attend, will probably attend or are at least questionable...
The "Official" day will be Saturday June 9 meeting at Scusset Beach by the Canal at 4pm for some dogs and burgers (anyone want to bring other stuff like caviar and lobster rolls :P ??) where we will group into teams to fish various styles and locales. We can discuss a wrap up time with maybe hitting Quintals or some similar locale for breakfast. I'll have "weigh slips" (actually inches slips) printed up for people to sign off on and will distribute those then. The "unofficial" day will be Friday night for those that are going the entire weekend or hoping to catch better Ditch tides and we'll figure out a meeting place and time for that... I'm hoping to use Friday night as a scouting trip for the "official" night. We can figure out a meeting place for Friday now if anyone has any ideas. Dinner for the "Unoffical" will be small packs of sardines that I swipe from my local clam chowder shop }> ...
So, please respond if you'll be fishing Friday, Saturday or both...
Thanks and looking forward to a great Tourney!!!!,
John
chris L 05-29-2001, 02:52 PM ill be on the canal from friday am till sunday am . any thing you need me to help with let me know . sardines dont forget the saltines or ritz crackers . Ill have rice .lol maybe we can hook up when ever you get there . I also have a small gas grill to heat up dinner . lol
Saltheart 05-29-2001, 03:33 PM I'll be there. I hope to fish a few tides that weekend and will be there for the Barbecue too. I still have a little more schedule interactions to nail down but hope to be fishing most of the weekend jigging at the canal and then nearby beaches and inlets as the canal rocks take their toll on my leg stamina. I might even pitch a tent somewhere for the weekend.
Looking forward to the Sat afternoon barbecue. I assume its "bring your own everything"?
Fishpart 05-29-2001, 03:34 PM I plan on being there Saturday Night. I'll bring along my little propane tailgate grill.
TheSpecialist 05-29-2001, 04:11 PM I will be there Saturday. May bring the other half as well. Could you post directions to the meeting location. I am not real familiar with the cape. I know the Railroad bridge, MMA, and the Herring run.
Slipknot 05-29-2001, 04:21 PM You know I won't miss it. I'll be there Friday night and Sat. afternoon. I can bring a full size gas grille or 2, plenty of space in my van. I can bring a bunch of other stuff too, burgers, dogs, paper plates, cups, ice maybe I should bring a large pot in case someone brings lobster or steamers.
STEVE IN MASS 05-30-2001, 05:29 AM I plan on being there Saturday afternoon if all goes well. Fishing plans (as to where) are still up for discussion, since after my experience at the canal this week (I'll post on another thread), I'll definately need some help to fish it again. Let's just say I was quite humbled and found out what a canal rookie I am!
Fisherwoman 05-30-2001, 09:26 AM Hey John, Sorry but BC & I will not be able to attend as we have clients in the AM & PM. Hope all goes well for all of you and you slam some big dogs!!!
Clammer 05-30-2001, 05:56 PM I would like to go////
Got Stripers 05-30-2001, 06:14 PM While I haven't brought the subject up at home yet, I will probably get down to the cook out anyway. If I get the nod to fish, I definately want to tag along with someone that will not be heading to the ditch. Much as I'd like to give it a try, I don't have the tackle or the gear to sacrifise for the evening...lol. Love to tag along with someone planning on slinging some eels or plugs from a beach, jetty or similar structure.
Is this an all night thing, or fish until you've had enough type deal? My day's of pulling all-nighters are long gone. Much as I like to fish, I won't be out there all night. Wouldn't mind joining in for some burgers/dogs and some good friendly conversation, just let me know where this beach is and how I get there. Will people be posting times they will be there or come whenever...just how does this work?

Tight lines.
Saltheart 05-30-2001, 08:07 PM We are definitely meeting at 4 PM Sat afternoon at Scusset Beach.
I plan on fishing the ditch with Smokey Sat from about 3 or 4AM til about 8 AM. Thats the best tide in my opinion. Then hopefully a cat nap and ready to go for the Barbecue. I like barbecues :) .
Then I may go home and come back again for the morning tide Sunday AM or I may fish a little more Sat night. That parts still fogged in. But I would suggest that anybody who fishes into the morning Sat and /or Sunday could meet up at Quintals . Almost 100 % sure I'll be there Sat AM after fishing. Maybe Sunday also same thing.
JohnR 05-31-2001, 06:44 AM GS - you can fish with me for as long as you want to stick around. I plan to fish much of the night but not at the canal so you can take off when you want... Just let me know if you want a nine foot rod to use with your 6500...
Saltheart will be the semi-official Canal Coordinator for this little shindig...
Canalratt1 05-31-2001, 07:32 AM John I plan on fishing the Ditch Sat. morning Till about noon. Saltheart if you want to hook up let me know. You can E-mail me at Canalratt1@aol.com. I plan on plugging just before and around daybreak then chunking in one of my prime spots but waders are required and rock climbing experiance needed or I'm open for suggestions.
TheSpecialist 05-31-2001, 03:18 PM My wife just remninded me I have a wedding that afternoon , so I won't be able to attend. Maybe I can meet with some who are gonna be down Friday night or early Saturday. Would any fish caught then still count?
Fishpart 06-01-2001, 07:01 AM clamdigger, give me a call and we can get together if you still want to go. Don't know where I want to fish yet I guess I'll just go equipped for any location. I guess I'm really looking froward to the day I inherit the van from the wife, just don't tell anyone....
Saltheart 06-01-2001, 02:15 PM I'd like to spend some time fishing with you canalratt1. I'm trying to turn this into a full weekend down there rather than going back and forth. Still need a little luck to be able to just go down and stay all weekend but we're working on it.
Clammer 06-01-2001, 09:16 PM Fishpart Ill give you a call this week, real good tides coming up this week , have to look into the pogy situation more that could really change things//later
