Best news I have heard in a long time! VH with Sammy is the best incarnation I believe. Great news T-Lap.:kewl:

Too bad David Lee Roth evolved into such a loser........

He was THE MAN in the late 70's, Sammy can't hold a candle to the original Van Halen.

VH just hasn't been the same since Roth got booted. Saw them at the Boston Garden in '81, 10th row. Excellent show!

Oh yeah, that was with Roth

i never saw any of the VH versions. i love the roth stuff, and i have heard some van hagar tunes. i would be psyched just to see the band out there tearing it up. we'll see what happens.

They sucked hard with Gary Cherone! Worst friggin album I ever bought! I am a big VH fan and I like to have all of my favorite artists albums......however, after hearing that album once I threw it out. Absolute worst album I have ever heard bar none! Glad Sammy is back, I like them with Sammy better than bubble gum snappin' Dave! Sammy lends a harder edge to the band! IMO:jump:

what was the name of the "hit" off of the van cherrone album? i have been trying to remember that for some time. i remember the video, it was set in an ice cave.

BigFish

There was no "hit". It was the only song off the album that got any air time and it sucked......don't recall the name! What did you think of that album T-Lap?

i never heard anything else off it. i just remember it got a little air time. unfortunately, i wasn't into VH in there prime. the first song i really knew was "Right Now". they probably formed the band right around the time i was born. (1978) i grew up on classic rock, and didn't venture away from that until i was in my early teens. that is probably why i still like 80's rock as much as the new heavy stuff that would make most of you kill yourself if you had to listen for 5 minutes. :smash:

VH I an II were staples for me through high school, and I was at the Women and Children First tour at the Prov Civic Center, but it was pretty much all downhill from there after Roth flaked out

I was in high school in the mid-eighties. Pink Floyd was huge and so was Sabbath and Maiden--I can remember that on our soccer team The Trooper was the official get pumped song. In college I started to get into the horn--played trumpet, and listened to loads upon loads of jazz. Now at the ripe age of thirty-three, I find myself playing Brahms and Satie and Ludwig Van:smash:
Of all the 80s stuff that I listend to I still love that early Floyd sound, not Sid Barret early, but Ummagumma, Meddle, and one of my all-time-favorites, Animals.

Never heard of it, but I love the old dub stuff. Floyd and reggae sounds interesting. 70s dub is great stuff. I highly recommend the trojan box sets and King Tubby and Lee scratch. I've got a bunch if you ever want to borrow some to blow glass to.

My girlfriend just burned a cold play CD. Now I've got a thing for Cold Play. Call it some kind of stigma, call it spite. Handsome young fellow with every women going crazy for him. But I tell you one thing this guy can sing. Great voice full of melodrama.

VH was the band in the early 80's. I saw the 1984 tour front row at the gahden. The Van Haggar stuff is good too...just different.
Hey gf....Animals is one of my favs too...My favorite Floyd album anyway.

Pretty good news. I like Sammy. But even though Roth is an arrogant douchbag, Fair Warning is the best all around Van Halen album ever. Quintessential American Rock N Roll. Every song is good. Less whiny chic songs, more ROCK the way it is meant to be played.

Oh, gotta put in the player now.
