Just to let you all know, baitcaster and I have just returned from a nightmare. We went to look for some new spots to fish tonight, went to the back river in weymouth, behind the harbor light mall, pulled into the access road. Put the rods in the van, and walked down the path to check the place out, we were only gone about 10 min. When we returned the side window had been smashed out of the van and the rods were gone, Baitcasters favorite 8' St. Croix W/Shimano Calcutta 400, my Penn Power Graph w/Shimano SPirex 4000, and one of our new custom made rods w/Diawa Z ia 3500, new reel, custom set up cost us over $225, which we had made to use for our clients for the guide service. We will probably never get them back, but I would just like 5
Fuc*(^%%$@$#@ minutes with the total SOB that took them. PLEASE watch your gear my fellow fishing friends, this was an expensive trip about $700 worth of gear gone in a blink of an eye.
So if you hear of anyone out there trying to sell these type of outfits, get there liscense number and please give us a call. Doubt that that will happen but you never know!!!!!!

Fisherwoman, sorry to hear what happened. IT happens to someone we all know every year. Very uncool. Make mention tomorrow night at the meeting to a few key people that fish that area. Keep an eye open... Was anyone else there at the time??

Hi John, thanks for the thoughts, Yes there were to hispanic men walking out as we were walking in, about mid 40's they were there fishing, chunking bait, walked by us to there car, when we came back out they were gone and so were the rods, don't know if it was them, but would pretty much bet on it. They knew we were not going to be gone long as we didn't have any fishing rods in our hands, but who's to know, got no proof, but you can best believe I will be looking for those 2 fellows at that spot again, to see what rods they are fishing. Called alot of the bait shops in the area to give them a heads up in case someone tries to sell them. Maybe we will luck out, but I doubt it. Thanks again, we have clients tonight so will get to the meeting late, maybe see ya tonight, need to collect for the MV trip.

Too much of this going on. I now carry a minimum of equipment. No tackle boxes anymore , just my surf bag. One or two rods only. I know they had a few break ins last year at Weekapaug too. The cops should plant some bait and nail these guys.

Sorry to hear about the incident... I am always paranoid about leaving stuff in the car because we park in isolated areas. Pretty damn pathetic.

I guess the only thing we can do is look out for each other. I'll keep my eyes out for the outfits while out on the water.

Good luck. Lovely world we live in, eh?

Thanks Schoolie Monster, would like to get my hands on those jerks!!!!, If you see those outfits, just try and get there license number, and we will take it from there. Just sucks ya know. Our little secret spot has been pretty slow, we were there last night. Wind from hell and only 4 fish, and I do mean twinkies.

If you mean the once secret spot that I know, I'm heading over tonight after work.

I was off monday and hammered 'em there. I picked up 7 or 8 thru the slack and the first hour of the tide, then a decent school parked itself on the corner and I had hits every cast for about an hour until I ran out of water. Ended up with maybe 40. Spectacular top water! Comin' right out of the water on alot of the misses.

Very light wind, hot, bugs... awful conditions...

Hopefully will hit 'em tonight. John mentioned possibly showing. Later.
