you know how herring loose their scales after a bass takes a whack at them?

I thought this was a good way to mimic that... I sprayed clear coat in certian places and dowsed it with glitter. Then as the clearcoat hardened, I burneshed the glitter with a bic birro pen to smooth the glitter into a scale pattern.

Still needs Epoxy top coat.

Your a sick monkey Eben. (Do I know you well enough to say that yet?)
Here's a question I've been asking myself lately but maybe I should ask you instead.
"ever get the feeling that your overthinking the whole realism thing?" Is it cabin fever? No really, I'm new remember. Does it get worse? Will I ever get a grip?
While trying to come up with paint schemes for squid plugs I found myself researching color patterns online...for an hour!
When I realized how silly it was getting I just decided to wing it.
Then I was sorry I did and wet sanded them down again and went back to Squids online!
Things can get fun but when your thinking like the fish then you know your serious (or need help :smash: )

Its funny you ask this question. Yes cabin fever is driving me crazy:smash: I've been haveing dreams of stripers lately and the only way I can sooth the urge to drive to the OBX is to build plugs and prepare for the next battle.

Does it get worse?? I think that will depend on how well yoru plugs work for you this season.... If they work great, your screwed becasuse you'll be so jazzed that what you set out to do worked.

if your season goes poorly and you didn't catch much on your plugs, your double screwed because you have to go back to the drawing board agian...

so I guess your screwed anyway you look at it:smash:

dont worry, not only does this forum act as a learning center, it also acts as a support group..
:D

**** oh.. squids are always changing color depending on their moods.. so your tripple screwed:laughs:

Did I mention I studied for over an hour? :tm:

First sign of danger they turn "invisible" to their attacker. If that doesn't work they shade dark and then drop the smoke(ink) screen. I suppose you can paint them at whichever stage you feel like having your squid.

Stage1) "CRAP...quick light skin light skin. I may still have a chance
Stage2) "Turn darker, crapped my pants and run for it."

How about a plug with about 2 thousand multicolored waterproof LEDs all over it and a waterproof NCAD battery as the belly weight?
