Amber.

I know that because I got grey. :smash:

Brown or tan gives you the best all-around performance. They're dark enough to use in bright sun, but also perform well on overcast days. Gray is best for bright sun and gives true color resolution, but they're not great for overcast conditions. Brown doesn't distort color all that much, either.

If you have the bucks, tho, the "Backwater Green" lenses on Ocean Waves are the best I've ever used.

IMO for water apps, you want Gray.

amber works best in shallower water gray in deeper water IMO . I use amber in rivers for trout and dont wear sunglasses when I fish the saltwater unless Im on a boat .

My 2 cents, amber for shallow water grey for deeper water. Grey works just as well as amber on cloudy days or in the fog.

amber lenses are supposed to give you the best contrast in shallow water and are good for sight fishing.

I can see better with amber vs. gray, so I agree with that.

Another big factor is side coverage. Any glare coming in from below and sides will kill your vision.
