SERVER

OK, well, we sure as hell been growing here. Hard to think we hit 2000 registered members today. For those of you that have been around for a while - who woulda thunk it?? Thanks to everyone for hanging out and making this place a great site! Just would not happen if not for all of you!

So now, here we grow again... I just put in an order for a new server - much bigger and faster than what we have now, and yess, more dough too. But it will also have the increased disk space we need and plenty of memory and CPU power - a lot more than we've had. We'll also have significantly more bandwidth to play with (all the sites currently use 25GB per month) :humpty: .

Not many people know this, but one of the other ways I've suppoted this site is by doing websites as well as hosting them. This is also what helped keep S-B afloat over the years. If you could use some inexpensive web design - these are some of the sites I've done and some still in development:

http://avemariacharters.com/
http://candocharters.com/
http://totallykidscc.com/ (in development)
and the first site (other than S-B) http://northeast.com

Also if you think you might need some reasonably priced web hosting - I can do that for you too... :D

So over the next month, I'll will be doing a lot of behind the scenes work to get the site switched over to the new server. This should happen with a minimum of downtime and I will schedule as much as possible off hours.

If you have any requests on what new you would like to see, I'm all ears to

Again, THANKS for making this a wicked pissah cool website!

GREAT JOB, John.

I remember when the site was running on a box in your apartment. (according to my sources)

We have certainly come a long way since then.

I definitely do more reading than posting but as others have said, an incredible wealth of knowledge can be tapped and others are more than willing to share what they know!

I have an appreciation for the time, effort and skills you put into this site and greatly appreciate them. Keep up the good work.
