mikecc 03-09-2004, 02:50 PM one of the guys got their reels stolen on Friday Night.
Stroth 03-09-2004, 03:23 PM It's taken me all winter, but I finally got my paws on some Hab's needlefish!!! Man after handling the plugs for awhile I can see why there is such hype!!!!! Great stuff!
Too bad to hear guys got ripped off.
Sometimes people are slobs
ThrowingTimber 03-09-2004, 03:25 PM Sorry to hear bout your stuff JHABS, goes to show that no matter where you are there's always an A$$hole.
Mr. Sandman 03-09-2004, 04:03 PM What is it with THEFT? It is really sad to hear about this. I think anyone who steals from a fisherman is risking serious injury...
The lil' reel I got at the show comes in different colors...I asked him for a gold reel..."Sorry, I had them but someone stole several of these and now I have to tie down the others to a cage." That is friggin sad.
What would you do if you came back to your truck and there was some guy either trying to steal a rod off the roof or digging thru your stuff inside?
Big Vern 03-09-2004, 04:19 PM I like to give them a choice: Police Station or Hospital.
BigFish 03-09-2004, 04:23 PM "Never mess wit da family......":nailem: :hang: :behead:

Mike P 03-09-2004, 04:45 PM I don't want to see Penn's latest wares---what I want to see from Penn is more of their old, proven wares and less Asian-made junk :D
blackeye 03-09-2004, 05:00 PM I bet it was the same guy who walked off narragansett beach with my fish last year. oooh he's gonna get it when I find him:af: :af:

Rappin Mikey 03-09-2004, 05:17 PM Rat bastages:af: :af:
scarecrow 03-09-2004, 05:22 PM thats too bad, a guy told me he found two kids going through his stuff once, he said they tried to beat em up but this guy ended up breaking one the kids arms and nearly killing the other according to the paper.
Clammer 03-09-2004, 05:31 PM oh,oh =small poppers ==========not me Habs ========that sucks ==========wouldn,t happen at Hooters:smash:
redlite 03-09-2004, 05:37 PM Since they are stolen, hopefully those lures never catch a single fish. But knowing how effective Hab's lures are, I doubt that. A shame when your stuff isn't even safe at a fishing show. Hopefully there will be no side effects regarding vendors' procedures at the MSBA show.
Came back to my car back in college after fishing in a remote part of Dartmouth. The 3 kids thought they were gonna be able to take me until my boy S&W popped out and I gave them the option of getting in their car and leaving or seeing if they could dodge bullets. Forunately they left and I called the police to report the incident and their plate #.

Crafty Angler 03-10-2004, 12:01 AM Yeah, it'd have to be pretty damned embarassing to have the Mrs. come home to find ya strumming the old cod to some pictures of plugs :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Hey, not that it's ever happened to me....no, really, never....I swear.

Gooch 03-10-2004, 08:09 AM Sorry to hear that Habs. I know what its like to have stuff stolen and I remember how pissed off I was for a while afterwords. Hopefully you can get the guy and if not at least there will be some bad luck following those poppers. I met you on Friday at the show and if the guy is from Jersey consider me a hired gun:smash:

Actaully it is in Old Saybrook Ct.
Raven 03-10-2004, 08:58 AM it would appear there needs to be someone checking out the crowd from a different vantage point....or perhaps a booby trapped (with an alarm) set up.....to catch them in the act.
thats a total drag.... and oh what a shetty feelin it is.....
sorry to hear about that guys.
bassmaster 03-10-2004, 09:35 AM that suck John:mad:
RI Popper 03-10-2004, 12:24 PM Hey John, I'm sorry you got ripped off at the show. I got taken for a couple small poppers and also for a pocket knife atleast that's all I could figure. _)(& happens. I figure that's the price of big business. :af:
Notaro 03-10-2004, 01:26 PM Maybe they should have arranged the metal detectors or item detectors. Mark your prices...
marky1 03-11-2004, 11:36 AM Police station is too easy...Hospital would make it worthwhile!
cheferson 03-11-2004, 11:55 AM No a nice chum slick poured in his air intake beneath his windshield. Everytime he uses his heat or a/c hell think about the theft.
Someone, where in New Bedford is "rivers end" and what time does it open?
JHABS 03-11-2004, 08:47 PM The SHOW is in Old Saybrook Ct. And guys the THIEF WILL GET HIS, best he mail them BACK........

Crafty Angler 03-11-2004, 08:56 PM I think it's all Tattoo's fault.
From those pictures I saw, you woulda been able to keep a better eye on your stuff it you weren't so distracted by fending him off...
Hey, don't worry Habs - I hear it ain't smart to try and mess around with the King. :smash:

RI Popper 03-11-2004, 10:29 PM Hey John, I've found that praying for those who do wrong to you helps. I'm not saying it's easy, nope definately not easier than breaking heads. But it has eteral rewards:hihi: :fishslap:
besides probably someone who can't fish anyway. Please Please don't tell me they took you little egg??? That darn thing is so cute.
Armand
Habs that sucks:( Its one thing to joke around and play the plug ho like I did with you ( sliding those needle blanks out of your back pocket) but its another thing to flat out steal:mad: Had I known you had a theft problem at the show I wouldn't have messed with you like that.. hope you get those plugs back... and if someone from S-B.com did it, that double sucks.
Swimmer 03-11-2004, 10:47 PM Once someone has stolen from you or someone else thier always a thief in my eyes. If your sure who it is post the name so we can blaspheme him. As far as what one should do to him/her, my choice would be that after you use the "force necessary that any prudent and ordinary person would use to defend yourself and your property," call the meat wagon.
Can't wash off the stink from being a thief. As hardas the thief tries those spots will not wear or wash off.:smash: :af:

macojoe 03-11-2004, 11:03 PM Sorry RI but if I new who stole somthing from me they better pray they wake up the next day!!:af:
Krispy 03-12-2004, 10:03 AM It was only a matter of time this whole "plug Ho" got out of control.Ive been saying it for years.
In the end, its all Bassmasters fault
RI Popper 03-12-2004, 10:30 AM Hey Joe,
One of the hardest things in my life was dealing with someone who once was a very good friend of mine. While I was away in the Army. He broke into my parents house and stole a bunch of stuff. What a low life piece of garbage. I really wanted to do a number on him. And no one would have blamed me if I did. But he was prosecuted and the system slapped him on the wrist. I pray for him now when ever I think of it. He really needs it. And don't get me wrong, I'm not a pacifist. But for me that method works best.

We actually have a half dozen or more law enforecement officers representing state's police, towns', and sherrifs' offices here - Talk about a badge carrying posse :hihi:

RI Popper 03-15-2004, 08:21 PM It was a great show. The final numbers have attendance at over 8,000. 40 seminars and and 37 were good from what I understand, the other 3 were done by me so we won't go there ;) but some people even liked them. :smash:
