I was wondering what is a good anti- virus software to get.
Mine is about to expire (free trial)and is it really needed?
McAvee...Norton...others?

we use norton, and love it, it has saved our a$$ a few times

Symantec or McAfee....as long as you have something on there. And in my opinion, yes you do need it.

Trend has a free online scanner that you could use, problem is you want to have something on there thats scanning real time, otherwise it would be too late in most cases.

Just a little heads up,

My company is sifting through the "Sasser Worm" right now.


It starts off by rebooting your PC a couple of times.....then WATCH OUT!!!:mad:

Update your definitions daily -

Sasser's impact "should" be limited if used behind a firewall.

For Anti-virus - set it up to update daily...

We're gettign hammered here at work with it, fortunately, i have it well contained, but i can't say the same for my colleagues at other facilities across the state...
