The skishing guy is a nut bag, Why him? He has a deathwish and most of all if you need to get out from shore and catch fish they make things called boats don't they? Or maybe they don't have them yet in NY. He is in magazines alright and one day they will have him posted in the obituaries when his bloated carcass washes up on Montauk after an altercation with a boat or maybe a shark.

X-Games fishing. I can see having Crazy Al to speak, guys will learn alot from him they can use but this Melnyk guy is just a whacko. Ther are plenty of New England guys that could have taken up his spot. Sorry BP, just my two cents.

everyone's got their own way i guess. look at it this way, he saved countless thousands on a boat which is really overrated w/ the fish he targets, and he gets to make fun of all the sourpusses like yourself and I who will b*tch and moan when he hits the offshore schools of fish when the rats raid the wash. yeah he's crazy, but at least he'll be saying something different than the usual mumbo-jumbo we experience too often at these things.

Why is the MASSACHUSETTS striped bass show featuring guys from Long Island?:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

The idea maybe was to do something a little different. There are two Mass guys - Manzi and Gags (though Al almost qualifies for CT :hihi: ), One RI guy, and 2 LI guys. I think its pretty good to have a mix from time to time. Its also a little different fishing than the sands of the Cape and more Rhodyesque with the Montauk guys.

For years the speakers have been local people and I don't think its a bad idea to switch it up for a change. Have a new face like Crazy Alberto in and something on the more extreme side of things will Melnyck. Yeh, I'd be interested to see it but you wont see me "Skishin" - I'd look WAY to much like a seal doing that.

So for one, and no disrespect to the local elite, I think its an interesting change for a year. Last couple years have had Stezko and he's a great draw and a great speaker but this year is a little different. Or they could simply roll out FrankD for ANOTHER year :rollem:

I'm sure there's something that we can learn from others techniques, methods and ways, and apply to our own styles of fishing.

Hmmm…. This is definitely a very interesting topic and since I am one of the speakers… I like to interject. :)

First of all, there are many ways of targeting stripers but there are only a few ways of targeting LARGE Trophy bass. My topic will cover the Long Island grounds with strong emphasis on other prime grounds other than our Mecca. As a recipient of several surf 50’s and multiple 40’s under my belt… I will divulge some of the big fish fundamentals that can be applied just about anywhere. I will also divulge new findings from my logbook that will be an eye opener, and undoubtedly contradicts everything you’ve read and heard about catching big fish. ;)

My seminar will also serves as two folds… One – Understanding trophy fish patterns and Two – There are other alternatives when fish are not in your state. Another words, if you are a diehard surfrat with a big time itch… You can extend your fishing by knowing when & where the fish are by just a few hours drive from home.

My past few seminars (Trophy Bass Topics) generally runs over two hours long and leaves many fishermen excited and pumped. I am not sure how I am gonna shorten down to one hour but I will try. Should I run out of time… You can always catch me at the AquaSkinz booth… ;)

As for the mad skisher Paul Melnyk that he is… Allow me to defend his views. I’ve skished with him before and it was fun. I can assure you that you will find his talk rather entertaining BUT make no mistake about it… Skishing technique does catch trophy fish!

As many of you know… Many people will do just about anything to catch those monster fish… and Paul is serious about bass and his methods proved it. :smash: I think his topic is refreshing and you will get a few entertaining pointers out of it.

Anyway, I am looking forward to hooking up with many of my Mass. buddies and let's have a great time.
