This is my first try at the plug making thang. Don't have a lathe or anything but have learned a ton regardless...Much thanks to everyone who answered questions, or provided archives for me to search through...

First batch from bought salty's/NJT blanks...

Second batch of swimmers from NJT blanks...

Batch of Danny's from Salty's blanks...

Here are the first blanks I actually made. They are from 3/4" hardwood dowel shaped vertically on the drill press with sandpaper...Was trying to make a 2 ounce similar to a habs, but they ended up about 1.5 ounces. Just a tad tail heavy.

And finally, some big 11" needle fish from 7/8" hardwood dowel stock. Turned on the drill press like the smaller needles. A PITA to center drill. Just under 4 ounces. Have yet to swim the needles, I hope they have enough weight.

Spence,
For a guy working with a drill press and sandpaper, thats one
hell of a job you did. I wish mine would come out that good.

Those 1.5oz needles are really sharp. Great stuff. Hope you sealed the dowels.
