Whereas the bass are getting closer, but still weeks away, I thought I would add another one of those distracting, but fun, threads in the manner of favorite war movie that has pizza and beer. This one is Name That Tune - I'll provide some lyrics, you guess the song title and original artist.

We'll have progressive levels of difficulty - Fry, Schoolie, Keeper, Cow and Holy Cow! I'll spread the songs out chronlogically, 60's and on. They'll be mostly oldies, but I throw in some modern stuff for the young'uns. No prizes, just a little fun. No cheating (i.e., web search) - either you know it or you don't. Feel free to add your own to stump the rest of us. I'll provide answers (if necessary) and add new ones every day or so.

We'll start with Fry level. Here goes:

1. "Excuse me while I kiss the sky"

2. "We skipped the light fandango.
Turned cartwheels across the floor"

3. "I don't care how much I've got to spend.
Got to get back to my baby again."

4. "Baby, better come back next week.
'Cause you see I'm on a losing streak."

5. "Some people say there's a women to blame.
But I know it's my own damn fault"

Good luck!

Wow, that was quick. We're looking for song title also. And maybe I should have been clearer - original artist. So try again, particularly No. 2.

Not bad guys and gals. Here is another batch of Fry:

6. "Even at my favorite table he can beat my best.
His disciples lead him in and he just does the rest"

7. "Fire off all your guns at once and
Explode into space"

8. "40,000 men and women every day"

9. "The weekend at the college didn't turn out like you planned.
The things that pass for knowledge I can't understand"

10. "Whatever happened to Tuesday and so slow
Going down the old mine with a transistor radio"

After this we will move up to Schoolie level.

Uffah,

You're right about Purple Haze. I will be more literal in the future. I was certain someone was going to tell me that it was "kiss this guy"!

1. "Radar Love" by Golden Earring

2. "Rocketman" (any relation?) by Elton John

3. "Old Black Betty" ?? or something like that. Don't know the artist.

I am going to move us up to schoolie level with a new thread.

Had to put Rocketman just because, Black Betty was a one hit wonder and the artist is pretty obscure but someone will get it.
If not I wont leave yah hanging.
