I always have 15, 30, 44, and 60 lb. on hand for various applications (tings, bucktails, plugs and chunking).

Goose 03-31-2004, 10:49 PM On the 60#...what do they mean by 16# class and two leader butts?
Slipknot 04-05-2004, 05:20 PM I like seagaur
Goose 05-10-2004, 08:42 PM I just received the flouro mentioned above and it doesn't look to be the material that you guys are useing, this stuff is fly fishin leader.
Can I get some help?? Ben?
justplugit 05-10-2004, 09:29 PM Goose, maybe someone from the flyfishing forum could chime in?
Tapered,non tapered,mono,fluro,weighted, flyfishing stuff always confused me.
Notaro 05-10-2004, 09:34 PM there is an orvis store in quincy market. maybe i can give this a try soon.
striperjerk1 05-10-2004, 09:49 PM goose i believe that this a leader with one end being 60# tapering to 16#. mostly used for breaking fish records for igfa rules and regs. its like using 50# test as a main line then tying youre leader on that is 20#test. just a guess.
Goose 05-10-2004, 11:06 PM Your right SJ thats what it was. But I'm looking for the 50# Mirage flouro leader that crazy Al speaks of ,,,by Orvis.
tobias 05-11-2004, 08:29 AM Goose - If you're trying to order from the website, you need to click on "Tippet Material" then "Mirage Tippets". You want the spool of 30 meters that cost $15.95. These are what you're looking for. The numbers .017"-.030" are the diameters of the line which correspond to the breaking strenght. You want the .025" which is 52lb test. When you click to purchase the $15.95 spool, it asks you what size, 21=39lbs, 23=44lbs, 25=52lbs, 27=60lbs and 30=80lbs. I use the 52lb test and like it better than any other fluorocarbons out there and I've tried many of them including Seagur, Triplefish and others. Hope this helps.
Tobias
