Bart, I'm not sure how much you are looking to spend but I picked up the 10' Tica medium heavy rated for 2-8 oz and have been really impressed how well it thows big lures for how cheap it was compared to your high end priced sticks. I have also heard the Tsunami 10' are nice for the $ if you are not looking to spend to much.

All Star 1208 (just hook the eels really well) This stick will toss a 3 ounce plug a mile and a half. Oh, and be weary of those MikeCC Batson knockoffs :D :D :D

shawn-i actually almost bought one of those 10 ft ticas, but i didn't like how small the guides were. the tsunami's are nice too but the 10 footers only come 2 pieces(i think) and im looking for a one piece, which i forgot to add.

I had a 10' 2-8 ounce Tica and sold it. It's fine for chunk but doesn't flex all that well for plugs.

Bart, Ya it's the 2 piece I got, I wanted a 10' that I could keep in the truck easily for chunking and throwing tins and bigger plugs. Seems to work pretty well for those applications, but I agree I'm not sure why they made the first guide on the spinning model so small? I'm not sure how much it effects the cast but I'm sure it must add some unwanted friction.

They still do, I just had one made up as a ditch/chunk rod over the new year. Hasn't seen the water yet so I can't comment...

Howabout a Lamiglas 120 1M with a chromed converted 704 -looks like that's gonna be my weapon of choice in this year's quiver.

Gonna be damn tough to beat - unless the "new" VS is all it's being cracked up to be. We'll see. I'm patient. :smokin:

Sorry Spence.. Its tough .. bring it in the rocks and don't worry ..I've fallen and hit the rocks with mine more times than I like to think about and the stick is fine.. Its a really nice fiberglass blank ..

Ditto on the HoneyLami. It's my prettiest rod. It could probably stop a 75 horsepower Boston Whaler without getting grumbly.

Can't wait to pole vault with it.

By the way, it also comes in black.

Lami 120 1L - I have 706 on mine and I use it for eeling and tossing big plugs. It is a very versatile rod.
