Does anyone have any good recommendations for a decent epoxy that can be used to bond metal to metal?

I would tend to say the metalized "putty" bars. what two metals and what are their shape? Soldering or welding might be preferable.

One equal part nut
One equal part bolt

Mix until tight:D

I use Lord 110b for autobody work. Glue patches over holes on cars. Comes in large and small mixing tubes and works great.

I second the JB Weld. I was leary when I bought it, but used it to fix a broken reel part that I couldn't get, and it worked like a charm. I was able to use my dremel to machine it and clean it up, as well. Just be sure to clean the surfaces to be joined, and let it cure for at least 24 hours.

I had a reel snap off half-way down the stem. The brace is still in the rod clamp. Will this JB WELD work to repair that problem? Was a clean break but in a rather narrow area.

For $5.99, it's worth a shot. There is a lot of torque on that area, so it may not hold up too well, but on the other hand, it may.
