I really thought that I was going to have to sell Surfrunner this Spring. But due to the use of a free mooring from my brother and a couple of real estate deals that actually stuck. I can afford the boat for another season. :)
I got to tell you it was no fun having people climb all over my baby then tell me she wasn't worth it. I priced my boat right in the middle for her size and power. It was very humbling trying to get someone to buy her. One guy told me he could get a Seafox for the same money. I told him that I didn't see too many of them at the Mudhole.
The bottomline is that everything has worked out okay. So I will be fishing Brenton Reef when gas is expensive and Block Island when it is cheap.

Good to hear Duke. Hopefully thing will turn around for you by next season and you'll be able to continue.
I know the feeling about having people nitpic every little thing apart. Had the same thing happen when I sold my Grady. Guy lifts the engine cover off the outboard and wants to know why the lower cowling had some dirt in it.:smash: I reminded him that it was eight years old but if it meant him buying the boat, I'd have it cleaned out for him. All it took was a rag to wipe things out with. Damned tire kicker still didn't buy the thing.
Glad you can keep her, I think I posted "can't you sell your soul instead of your boat" when you told us she had to go.
As for the "tire kickers", I think the problem is used boats are a dime a dozen, and people don't know what they're looking at. Your boat is super sweet, and powered VERY well, but with the number of boats on the market, they are just looking at the $$$$.
Hope to see you on the water....

Some guys just like to look at boats. I have some that have come to me for years every spring asking for prices to customize something they are never going to buy. It's just part of it I guess.
