just built a 10' x 10' herring pen in my pond and have about 100 herring in it right now. This is my first time with a pen and was wondering how long can I expect them to last. Should I feed them at all? They seem to be very lively right now.

they should last as long as you need them too.
ten feet is a huge pen and they will be very happy in there.
throw a couple big crabs in there to keep things tidy, and remove the dead ones out as soon as you can.
you can feed them there dead brothers, mashed up. or once a week wet cat food works.
with care they'll last for months.

Mike,
How much shrimp and how often do you feed them. Also does wet catfood really work? Seems much easier than chasing grass shrimp around.
