View Full Version : Ahh, recommendation...
JohnR 07-14-2001, 08:18 AM Whenever anyone uses any kind of bait, always remember to remove ALL of it from your vehicle... I had the misfortune of forgetting about a couple eels that I thought I had removed (brainfart on my end). Now seeing that the last time I went fishing was last weekend, it was particularly NASTY when I cleaned out the cooler this morning >( . The tiny glint of silver lining was that the cooler was on the rack outside of the truck...
...just a little public service announcement fromt your friendly neighborhood eel slinger

Got Stripers 07-14-2001, 04:14 PM I've had some really nasty smelling livewells over the years, but luckily they are in the boat in the back yard :). I can't imagine how that would be inside a closed truck :(.
Smokey 07-14-2001, 10:17 PM ooooooo that smell, I seem to remember another insidant with sand ells and your waders. Gag me with an eel.
Mike P 07-15-2001, 05:09 PM You don't ever, EVER want to forget about squid inside of any closed container.
Canalratt1 07-15-2001, 08:32 PM All this talk about smells remids me of the ck of Huff's truck!
Mike P 07-15-2001, 09:11 PM Yup, Tony---after a week at the Vineyard---when he was wearing the same clothes all week, and Frankie had tangled with a skunk.
Mike P........I second, third, and fourth your motion! I can shovel cow poop all day....but I dont like to even THINK about nasty squid!!!!!!!! hhhhuplblehhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been there, done that, wanna puke at the mere thought of it......
Oh and one more thing....this is for you John....Did you ever see "grumpy old Men" when he srategically placed the fish in the other guys car??? hee, hee, hee..... thats all I could think of!
now for MY public service announcement...
If offered a ride with John anywhere....keep this in mind! :O
Slipknot 07-15-2001, 09:57 PM Thanks for the advice and warning Jenn
I would also advise not to leave any squid in the bilge of a sportfishing boat for the weekend, you may not like what you find. gee, why is the bilge water purple? Open the hatch and keel over WHOA!
this is not the kind of thread to read while eating breakfast.
Now where are those pictures of Schoolies' Monster ?
Fishpart 07-16-2001, 05:39 AM Sounds like it is time for a good bleach soaking.... Just hope the rest of the stuff in your footlocker didn't get stanky too.
Slipknot 07-16-2001, 07:47 AM Ed, it wasn't my boat, but my friend learned a lesson about bait and keeping them cold on ice
JohnR 07-16-2001, 08:30 AM Well thanks for all of the wonderfull words-o-wisdom but fortunately, the eels were in the cooler in the cooler rack OUTSIDE of the truck. The inside has only the smell of sand that will only be removed for the carpets if I roll it a couple hundred times... I was gonna take pictures and post it but we're still a couple years away from scratch and sniff over the Internet, hehehe...
Jenn, thanks for the best alpha representation on yacking online... I'll need to remember that one... :P
I just wanted to allow everyone the FULL effect! heh, heh, heh... :*
