I hope this was not directed at me, I have paiud John to advertise here in the past and am still wiating for John to get back to me aout it. I paid John for web space for my web site, and also do business with 3 tackle shops that support this site.

If you look at my profile you will see 7 referals to this place and have been here since august of '01. I was hree when this place was nothing, brought alot of people here besides the 7 referals and caused alot of traffic with posts and pictures and doing business with other contributors of the site.

So if you think I'm "spamming" - think again. This thread was about getting the old thread started back up again with the pictures. There was stuff in there that I wanted to review and alos add to the post - not to start showboating.

no coments were made to you or any sponsors of this site they were made to the people who like to start trouble thats all!!!!


They know who they are and the history with me. I also know there are alot of quality people here its ashame that some have nothing better to do with there time than to start trouble!

I have had the pleasure of meeting Steve and his lovely wife,and I can honestly tell you they are the nicest people. Very Sincere hardworking, with 3 great kids .
It really is amazing how we can misunderstand each other on these forums and get a totally wrong impression of people .
I have the same problem with people at work when I send out emails. You have to be so careful what you say, or it sends the wrong impression. This works both ways.
Lets give steve a break here. He builds absolutely beautiful plugs, he's a hardcore striper addict and has a lot of great info to share. If you ever spent a couple a hours on the fon with him (and believe me i have) you would realize what a knowledgeable guy he is, and hes so eager to share it .
And I honestly dont think hes trying to "spam" any more than the rest of us here & if he is then JohnR would address it. I dont think its up to us to do that. Were talking fishing here for gods sake. Lets lighten up and learn from each other.

I have met Steve and his wife and they are nice people. Of all the plugs I own, and that is quite a few, I find myself admiring the 2 Steve F's that were given to me most often. Some of the finest looking and swimming plugs I've seen anywhere. High quality. I also know that at this point Steve doesn't need any more places to retail the plugs he makes, I am aware of places that would gladly sell his plugs. Doesn't make sense that he would attempt to spam this site to generate a few plug sales:rolleyes:

You have to see one of these up close to appreciate them.

you know i like it here...its a place i can come to laugh and drool over others work and meet nice people...as some people know Steve is the only one that can work outside the ouse...I have to stay home due to our son having special needs...I go to college, but thats only 3 days aweek and coming here to get to talk to people...and for a moment have a break...you see my son has PVL..Periventricular Luekomalisia it is a developmental disorder...In english, my son had a stroke while I was pregnant with him...Steve and I do not get out that often...and coming here to talk is nice...my husband makes plugs as a passion...we have been together for 5 years and for 5 years he has always wanted to do this, even before we met...

this is my getaway from..the therapists that come in everyday to give my son therapy....In that time I am home I am constantly working with him and have given up everything that I like to do...Since steve has been making plugs..we hardly fish anymore...and its like a first date when we get to go out fishing..I could care less about going dancing or going to a bar or out to dinner I would rather be fishing with my husband and helping him with his plugs...

coming here and seeing the goofy things you guys put up in the scuppers and teasing eachother, kind of gives me a warm fuzzy...

It a freedom..sad to say..I will never be able to work until my son gets into a program out of the home...I have committed myself to my family...

coming here is like going out on the town...i know its sad...but its nice...

Mr. Bernzy and the rest of the guys either I or my husband are friends with know how our household is...and its nuts...making plugs is my husbands getaway...he enjoys what he does and I enjoy seeing him do it...and i am proud of what he does..just like he is proud of my artwork that i do...i like to show his work..and i like to see others work...its stupid that people have to be this way...

wording things through a keyboard is tricky just like tinman & tattoo said..you have to make sure everything is spelled out the right way or it gets mistaken....

i know i said in my last post that it was my last post...just remember some people dont have it easy and everyone has issues...and for some coming here is a release...from their everyday life and to let off a lil steam and show some nice stuff...

I too have met Steve and the misses in person! And agree with the others that they are good people!

I was in PA attending the Rodcrafters seminar and Steve made it a point to direct me to his house and show me part of his Man cave. He also took me to one of the local tackleshops that had a ton of top knotch #^&#^&#^&#^& including a bunch of older Gibbs!

So Mr and Mrs Frances please dont take what was said personally!

I've been home sick since Monday and stuck indoors. :( Its places like this that allowed me to keep my sanity.

I've hung out in forums similar to this with my other hobbies in the past and I've seen it all..... LOL. That is one of the reasons I left those forums. :( Tempers flare, people post things that get misinterpeted and then it gets ugly.

I'm an A-hoel. I missed it, but if showing pictures of your plugs is spamming.......then :rolleyes: ...there are ALOT of spammers on here. I think most of the builders sell their plugs, (I'm sure there are a few who don't)...but if you sell plugs, and post pictures of your plugs on here..whether you sell in volume or single plugs, is it still considered spamming? I'm an A-whole. Your a spammer. Is it against the rules to be an A-whole? What about being an A-whole spammer, is that double the punishment? THIS IS THE INTERNET!! No matter how much you want to make this real, it's only as real as you let it get. I am proud to be featuring some of Steve's work in the Plug Project Display!

He is a top knotch Gentleman and one helluva PlugBuilder!

He not only sent a couple of his creations for all of us to enjoy, He also threw one in for my Plugbag as well!...

And there were no business cards in the package when it arrived I assure you!

And in speaking with Steve, I find him to be one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to speak with!

It sure bums me out to see this kind of thing take place on this site...

This site has it's own moderators without others having to try to fill the slot...

look at things this way. there is a difference between guys making plugs for personal use, and selling a couple to make up for the investment, and guys selling for a living. sure they are not supposed to sell through the board or use the boards as free advertisement, but it occurs. the difference is when somone that makes plugs to either supplement their living or as their income, uses this. i am not the bord police, nor so i try to be. i don't see where that comment comes from. i don't go running to moderators and tell on people when they misbehave. if i see something i don't like, i say so. (right bigfish :D)

Who cares about all this crap!!! It's a fishing board, remember! I build rods and plan on selling a few, does this mean I can't post pics? If I can't, let John tell me about it and I will stop. I think this board is a great source to get and share info with FRIENDS that have the same interests...FISHING. I've met several guys from this site and they have all been great people. One has even become a good friend. I hope to meet more in the future. Can't we all just get along and have a little fun busting, not offending, each other? If there is a problem on the board I think John should be the one to deal with it, he seems to have done a good job so far, others should just mind their own freekin' business and it will be a happier place. Just my .02!!!! Now lets catch some of them finned friends that we have been waiting on.

Ya know Steve - I have too much crap on my plate today to sort through all this. But you are taking this too far too. I can honestly see how this blew up in the first place. That happens with the Internet. Sometimes what people type doesn't come out the way one means and sometimes what one reads is not exactly what was typed out in the first place.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt after the blow up when you first came here. No one questions the quality of your work but I do question some of your practices. I know that you were pushing stuff when you told me you weren't - I've seen the e-mail and PMs. So please don't take me for a fool here. So while I like your stuff and think you make a great product, I'm not convinced you are on the up & up here and that you've been honset with me.

Monique, I DO appreciate how you have come here, participated, made friends, and generally have become part of our community. I respect your work and your situation. I also understand that this is a tough call. I, for one, would like you stay.


But while we're on this thread.

The OFFICIAL Policy of selling stuff through this site is that one MUST be a sponsor - and sponsors help keep the lights on. Becoming a sponsor here is not easy. Lot's of people ask and not many become sponsors. In order to become a sponsor, someone must have a product or service I've used and would recommend to people or one of a handfull of other people have used and would whole heartedly recommend. I've been 95% consistant on this policy as I think it provides the best stuff to members here and the sponsors we have get the best kind of buyers for their product - real anglers.

The unofficial addendum to this is that there are some people here that build rods and plugs that FREQUENTLY PARTICPATE in the forums, help others out, offer suggestions, PARTICIPATE on this site, are allowed to sell some stuff. They don't broadcast that they are selling, they don't have a banner or a website, but they do sell some stuff to people. But they PARTICIPATE. They also donate stuff to the raffles, donate prizes to the kid's tourney (donate some to me :D ) but above all, they PARTICIPATE in this community.

OK - now that I'm behins schedule I gotta cut the grass to have ANY HOPE of wetting a line today.
