Got to finish getting the truck ready for the season.
Odd question regarding interior decorating.
Anyone got advice on installing curtains on my cap so that the coppers can't see me sleeping in the back. I don't want to drill the cap and would like to keep it as cheap as possible. Any ideas as to where to get cheap material to use for the curtains and how to hang them?

Sheet metal screws and typical curtain rods from Wally World. Just replace the screws that come with the curtain rods with the sheet metal screws and install them like you would inside. I had a pair on the back and side windows of the cap of my Toyota truck for years..

Didn't really want to put holes in the cap, but now that I think about it, screw it. I'll just through bolt em on and be done.

velcro:) its what i used in mine.

velcro is the way to go.. easy up easy off

theres two methods...yes 2ND on the peel and stick velcro if you dont want to screw in eye bolts into interior of cap.... otherwize i would use eye bolts and bungee cords...the fabric type (not the black solid rubber) that are round....so they are also easy to remove when not in use
plus you can slide the curtain up and down them if you need air from a side window. which isnt so easy with the velcro style.

one of the best little devices is a mini hand held battery fan velcro'd to the ceiling blowing downward to give you some air circulation.

No experience doing this but how about velcor and a black piece of fabric which can be purchased at walmart? Just cut a piece a little larger than the window and mount with velcro. Could be easily removed when not in use.

Just a suggestion. I'd hate to screw into a cap and have something go wrong.

I've heard that leaky orvis waders would work.

just buy some cheap bargain fabric at JoAnn fabrics, make sure it's not too heavy and some cork bulletin board tape. Stick the bulletin board tape up there and tack the cloth up there... no sewing and not too expensive. If you can't find that tape, the cork comes in rolls and you could probably stick it up there with some spray adhesive or epoxy :confused:

You can find "frost spray paint" at Lowe's and Home Depot.
It is used to frost glass and it works great. All you need is a couple of coats and it still lets light in.

$3.00 and you're done.

Comes off with a razor blade scraper quite easily too.

Redlite, do a search on Queer Eye For The Straight Guy.com. They'll send someone over to help you color coordinate the curtains so they match your rod. (and reel):cool:

Bath towels make great curtains......in a pinch you could use it as a fishing towel !!

Hell just tape some garbage bags or even paper bags on the inside with scotch tape. The paper bags will make you feel like you are in school again.

What I did was to use the screws on the window frame . And just
atach curtain rod holders and then use bungee cord ellastic from end to end . As for curtains try Building 19. good ? stuff cheap.
