With all the expensive stuff that has happend to me in the last week, I need to do something nice for the spouse for mother's day...I got her a new pair of breathable waders but I don't think that compares to a 4 stroke and a pile of boating expenses. Boating season hasn't started and I am already broke. And I thought I was going to get away with a cheap boating season this year too....

For my Ladie's last birthday I printed out some little cards that were coupons for foot rubs, backrubs, dinners, chores, and even the dreaded 'Eben cant go fishing tomorrow' card...... it was a big hit and cost me nothing.

Heres a tip though... dont print too many of the 'Mr Sandman cant go fishing tommorrow'cards...:D

:eek: Dude, those "no fishing cards" are OUT OF THE QUESTION! Way to radical for me. How could you do that to yourself? This is why you don't connect with the big ones! You need to go when they are there...no excuses....If she pulled out a "do not fish card" and the was a big blitz the night prior...I don't think I could live with myself. You would read in the paper the next day "Fisherman slashes his wrist and kills himself with a Bernzy plug while at home after hearing about a record fish being landed that same night"

I was thinking more like a fancy dinner and maybe a gift certificate at clothing or shoe store or something .

Make her a nice dinner of her favorites w/ all of the extras (Wine, her Music, real Plates :D ).

It might even yield a "Bonus" for you.

Ahh Sandman... those cards got me many rewards, and the 'no fishing card' actually gave me more time to fish because she felt guilty she used it...Moma didnt raise no fool, and trust me, a little give goes a long way if you know what i mean;) Plus if you do it right you can psych the lady into thinking she should use the card on a day when you know the fishing wont be that great-Thus opening the door for cow gods arrivial:D

How about a gift certificate for a spa type place for a nice long massage or makeover deal? Something else that usually works for me is to ask her to do something you usually say no to and she knows you really don't like doing, but you know she enjoys. No not THAT, Mikey! I mean like to go art shopping then have a quaint lunch or get tickets to see a show or concert.
