i should know this by now but i have to ask.. are all ht-100's the same or are there variatons in size between the different penn reels.. i was digging thru my box of reels to be tuned up for the season and came across a 706z that i bought over the winter..
the drag was all soaked with grease or wd40 .. and i know i need to replace all the drag washers.. i was just trying to confirm that i can use any old ht-100 i come across..
or if i am mistaken please feel free to point me in the right direction..

They're msotly different, but some models share the same size washers.
The 706 takes the same size as the 704, 7500 and 8500.

Crash,
There are many different sized drag washers. But some washers fit many types of reels. When you buy a set sometimes it comes with a chart. Save the chart.
Also helpful to go to the PENN website. You can download just about any reel exploded view with a parts list.
That oil soaked washer set you have may be alright if you degrease it with some brake cleaner or electric contact cleaner.

thanks for the info.. going to get the grease out of them with acetone.. was told to soak them.. then blot them with a paper towel.. then repeat.. until the liquid that comes out of the washers is clear..
i plan on getting a back up set for my reels.. hate to lose a good fish to faulty drag washers..

Go out and buy some .. If the metal disc are all scored you can get a whole set ,,or most the time the metal is fine and you can buy the 3 fiber ones ... wicked cheap ...not even worth doing all that with the old ones ..If they are the same as 704 washers as posted above.. 704 parts are everywhere ,,.;.not being a wise guy ,,just trying to help ..:)
