Eben, nothing a half-gallon of rum won't fix....

I know the feeling - I retired an entire selection of vintage tins for that very reason - I now have one of each of my favorites left.

If ya mean pretty swimming like Mark Spitz, well, hell no! If you mean barely keeping your head above water with major splashing , sputtering , and gagging then that was me. Hey, that plug set me back 20 friggin bucks! Was I just supposed to watch it float away?

Bummer Eben,

I guess it means a lot when it is one of your own. Like loosing a loved one.

:(

My only complaint out here is how often I have to sharpen me hooks

Last fall I swam for a plug at Race Point during a bluefish blitz. It was just an Atom 40 I had bought from Capesams, but in six casts it had just brought me 5 BIG bluefish and a 41" Striper. Everyone thought I was crazy and asked my buddy who was directing my efforts "what the f@@@ Is he doing?"
The smart ones asked"What plug is worth swimming for?" It was a long swim. I have enough now so I won't have to pull an Esther Williams this fall:D

I swim for plugs once in awhile, as in the case of Longshot, a hard to replace plug that is within a resonable swim. A few times I swam out to get new plugs that I had lost because I had not yet caught fish on them....hey at $12.00-$18.00 bucks a pop, I will make the swim when possible and safe.;)
