This latest pissing match started on SOL----maybe you guys should think about settling it there?

Just a friendly suggestion.

Thanks.

I wish it didn`t exist but he chooses to follow me from site to sight and post negative statements that are personal in nature.

This is a public forum not a personal avenue to utilize to harass someone.

Sorry if my responses upset anyone but I feel the need to defend myself from the cheap shots of someone who should know better.

put it in pm's.

You have had fair warning.

Mike---this wasn't a response to something Steve said here. Steve made a comment to you in the Mass Forum of StripersOnline. You guys went around the block here in one thread. That wasn't pretty, but in your defense, you responded here to something that started here. Now, he said something that you interpreted as a personal slam, and your response was not only to respond with a post on SOL, but to post this thread whose title basically speaks for itself.

I like this board. It used to be a welcome oasis from the incessant pissing contests that take place most everywhere else around the internet fishing world. Now it's getting to be almost as bad as the other places. If someone hurts your feelings on another web site, respond there. PLEASE don't involve the rest of us here in it. I like you and I like Steve. I"m just asking as someone who is concerened about the direction this site seems to be headed in, for everyone to stop and think before posting inflammatory threads.

Cool..... FYI he pounced on me here on SB as well more than once.

Do you see any posts from me doing the same to anyone? No.
Only in reply to an attack.

I`ll chill but its hard not to respond when someone slams you.

Great fishing to you all,
Mike

:smokin: It's not "the lord of all fishing knowledge", just fishing for striped bass in my own backyard. Like I said in my response to your pm, it's mentoring with a touch of tough love. I know your enthusiastic, there is no doubting that, but as a wise old fisherman told me long ago to think before I say anything, you know the old mouth in motion before brain in gear thing. Anyone can make a prediction and that is their right but predictions without the basis of fact or experience tend to put that person in a negative light from the standpoint of those who have put in the time through dozens of years and just about every condition you can think of from cold spring weather to abnormaly warm and everywhere in between. You obviously want to become a better and respected striper guy. Then all you need to do is slow down. keep the chatter down, think ahead and listen, really listen. Experienced striper fisherman like enthusiasm but when it gets to the point of being a nuisance you lose all respect and respect in the striper community, the hardcore striper community, is the hardest thing to obtain. If you think I was harrassing you as you say in your PM then think again cause that wasn't even close. Ask BM what it is like for me to harrass someone. So now I will keep my mouth shut from here on out. The "harrassment" as you call it ceases now. Toodles. You may fire when ready Gridley!

Some people confuse arrogance with time spent on the water. Someday some may mistake me for being arrogant, but for now, I'll shut up and put more time in..

Without starting another long distance pissing contest :hihi: I will add a couple things, whereas the internet might reduce the learning curve for some it's still no substitute for time on the water. For some people, the TMI factor of the Internet can LENGTHEN the learning curve. Kinda like shopping for digital cameras on the iNternet, you can easily be overwhelmed with Too Much Information.

Second, the Internet can sometimes take the old timer advice out of the mix, that one or two people that take you under their wing and pass on a lesson here and a lesson there when we're ready for it, not when we want it. I've been fortunate to have been taken under some wings and many of those lessons I have not found online.

Damn, I thought I said I was going to shut up now. OK. I'll really shut up :hidin:

Skitter, you almost come across as if flaptail is obligated to take you under his wing. If your lucky enough to get pm's from flaptail, or bassmaster, or some other of these sharpies on here, you should be very gratefull. I know a bunch of people that dont, myself included. Ive been fishing for 10 years skitter, not a long time, been out 4 times this year, skunked every time. In my best year skitter, caught maybee, and i mean maybee 100 fish....thats not alot of fish, and i put in alot of time. my biggest fish to date skitter is 29 lbs, thats not a big fish. i read one of your posts on here or maybee another site, where you wrote, you catch like 800 fish a season, but you need help ??? I see some sharpies out on the beach from time to time, like flaptail, bm, stetzko, and others, but i dont approach them, as much as i want to, because they are already being hounded enough, by the likes of you, its no wonder alot of these sharpies dont post anymore. Stop being such a suckball, enjoy the site, and just get out and fish, because of the sounds of it, your alot further ahead then alot of people of here :(

Pops,

Since I met you once I`ll be frank.... you are way off.

I didn`t ask Steve to be my mentor or tell me his secrets which I probably wouldn`t understand without 40 years in the salt as he has under his belt. Kind of like Einstein telling his theory of relativity to a 3rd grader
My complaint was only related to posts he made wherein I felt he was sharply critical and negative of me or my posts.

Thats it.........

Only if I gave them the right time of day, tide, location, conditions, etc. I love it, but, I have a limited window with it, this time it paid off, as what few brain cells I have left told me it would :laughs:

I fished until 10:30 and it was fair. They wanted bones, slow rolled. One decent one and the rest kindergarten. Nice being totally alone though. When I got there at 6:30 it was nuts for the first hour of the drop fish on every cast then they got picky and it was fish and change, fish and change. Bone everything was king. I still cannot believe no one else fishes there. Thank God for private spots. Should be good over your spot tonight. They will be lined up waiting for you. Tonight it is my turn to purchase a new lawn mower.:D

Yup... I have no clue where you were Flap, nor do I want to know, but, where I got dinnah, was me and me alone. Less than a mile away, at another place SRO, just me and the fishes a few doors down. You are right, Thank God, to still have that.

cool Steve.
I love that place. most the time im to the next place to the right.
But it was nice to see them come up for Bernzy's howdy.
there in elsewhere so I want to be 3 places at once.
But its a toss up.
alot of driving to places to find out whats what, so i got some hauling to do.
Me thinks alot dont realize that putting time in running and then seeing it on the net
and thats where the pissing starts.
Ya work
Ya find
then get burned
But exp sure is nice to hide:D

Karl that's cool hope youre catching big. Be your way soon as the beach is calling but like a fine wine I have popped the cork but it needs to breathe a little before I drink it down.

Dave I think the only mistake we made last night was not to follow the tide down to your other spot to the right. Maybe tommorrow go right from work they sure are feeding better under the sun than the stars.:D
