View Full Version : Anyone Slammin' Fish Since This Cold Front Came Through?
BigFish 05-14-2004, 09:39 AM Things seem to have slowed down the last few days (not that I was killing them anyway) but it seems as though the water has not quite reached the optimal temperature quite yet. This morning I went out and found the water to be quite a bit cooler than yesterday and the day before.
Your thoughts?;)
fishweewee 05-14-2004, 10:09 AM Same thing happened to me last Saturday. That cold front that came in just shut everything down in the bays and inlets where I was. We did see quite a bit of activity on the open water however, well offshore (out of casting distance).
The run should be in full-swing up in your neck of the woods, let's see how the winds blow.

BigFish 05-14-2004, 10:40 AM I think we need a good blast of 80 degree weather for a few days to kick it into high gear. Just my .02 cents.;)
B-assman 05-14-2004, 10:45 AM I've fished every morning this week from 5:00 am - 7:30 - in the same general area of Narragansett Bay. It was a pretty interesting week. Monday, Tuesday and Friday (this morning) fish were breaking the surface in huge schools - and the fishing was quite good. (31 total fish on those three mornings).
On Tuesday and Wed - there was no sign of fish at all. Birds were just sitting on the water, no bait to be seen, no fish on the finder - nothing.
On all 5 days the water was calm. M,T,W calm winds Turs, fri had 5knot winds out of the NE.
I was amazed (frustrated) on Wed / Thurs at how things could just "turn-#^&#^&#^&#^& like that. Then today it turned back on. Don't know if it was the cold front - but im glad to see that the switch is back on!
