Does anyone think Bunker or any other fish oil actually work?? I've used it in the past and since oil and water aren't supposed to mix how does it work?? It makes a great slick but I think thats about all it does. How does a bass 30 feet down smell a slick thats floating on the surface?? Or is it supposed to work on chunks or lures, but even then the oil would float to the surface and not permiate the water column?? The only way I see it working is if you were useing it a Bass might hold on to a lure or chunk longer but by then they are probably hooked?

If you want some of your smelly oil to get down, try mixing 10 lbs of sand in with a quart of pogie oil. Some of the oil will get dragged down with the sand. Not always neccessary, the fish have a great nose, and event though the oil my appear to be on the surface, they can smell what little goes down.

Your right the oil floats. It does help to revive frozed baits IMO .
I hear there is a bunker "milt" or "milk" that has more or less the same specific gravity as seawater and can be used through the water column but I have only seen it advertised I have not tried it.

When I mix up chum I add some bunker oil to the mix. I figure some to the bits that sink will absorb some of the oil and make for a better slick. (That is what I think anyway..who the hell really knows)

Ever wonder where all the schools of large adult bunker went? Can you say Omega? I personally choose not to contribute to the problem and refuse to buy any. I've got an old bottle that dates back 10 years, you might have to saw off the top, but your welcome to it.
