The hickory shad are in thick from one end of gansett to the other. I caught about a dozen, but missed many hits. I was using a cocahoe. ANy advice on something better to hook up with them? The bait was also very thick, scooped up a 5 gallon bucket in two swipes. I was using all the bait to chum them in closer to me, but still missed a ton of hits. Also managed a few fatty schoolies.

1/2 to 3/4 oz. Whiptails work well for me.

Red and white shad darts, 1/4 oz. Need light gear to throw, deadly.
I've got loads of these jigs if you want to try some, drop me a line.

We do well with the smallest jig heads you can find (or shad darts) tipped with the smallest little curly tails you can find.

Put a small fly as a teaser with the cocahoe that will work

1 or 1-1/2" Fin-S fish with a 1/8 to 1/4 oz jig head. Those make good bait for live lining.
shad darts + 4 lb test line + shad = FUN!!!!!!

Cleaned up over a dozen, i tied the shad dart to the hook on a popper. They have been in thick every night at dusk, with loads of bait. Forgot to put the worm on the dart. They were jumping two feet outta the water
