O.K. , Dad calls and says his hot water heater let go, so I leave work hit Home Depot - I,ve done these before.
It's electric 240v, 2 wires out of heater and ground.
But Dad has this off peak meter setup thing where I got 4 wires feeding the heater. There's an extra green and red that come off the meter, presumably to save $ during hi demand peaks.
So, I disconnected the meter leads and just went with the black/white legs off the breakers.
Any of you guys know what I'm talking about?

there should be a wiring spec. in the owner's manual. the spec should show you witch wires to doudle up or just wire nut off.
you are right about the off peak meter it will shut off during high demand times. hope this helps
