What, you never had fried battered skate wings? crunchy and yummie

Some of the biggest skate I've even seen were foul hooked while jigging bass at Race Point. At hook up you would swear you had at least a 25 lb bass. The skates open those wings and it is a battle all the way. When you realize the fight isn't quite right. %$#@$ another skate.

Sounds more like a ray than a skate.

Had skate and it's very good. Like Jim said.....taste like scallops.
