Yep, bought a piece of dirt a little over a year ago.

Going through the house-building process now.

...Septic Designs $$$
...Surveyor $$$
...Well system $$$
...Excavating $$$
...Septic Installation $$$
...did I mention, $$$$ and $$$$$$ some more.

I've been trying to fish when I can but my job has me doing some night-time software upgrades and of course, this company uses dial-up and the software is coming in through the phone-line...zzzzZZZzzzz......and the last 2 nights we experienced power outages during the upgrade, I still can't believe these things are taking me over 12 hours to complete :hs:. Then I get home around 6am and there are contractors unloading their work truck to do some remodeling in the apartment below my bedroom. I go fish to kill some time but am exhausted....I get back home and try to get some shut-eye....:af: they start using an electric hammer to put a floor in :af: ....I end up sleeping in a small room in the basement on some cardboard boxes with my blankie :bc: :bc: ....been doing upgrades for 3 weeks, contractors been in and out for 2 of the 3 weeks. Wake up to missed calls from contractors with prices......at least the fish are keeping me relatively sane, the fish are being VERY cooperative but I'm finding that I'm not enjoying it much because all I can think is $$$house$$$$, not being able to sleep, $$$$, EYECURUMBA, $$$$ and more $$$

..someone please tell me it's going to get better, :smash: ..$$$$$$

Look on the bright side - when the house is done then wifey wants to have kiddies, you'll get even LESS sleep ...

Put your foot down, and tell her you choose the colors and stick to them and that's it, then you decide all else.

Bloo you tell her the thing would get done quicker with 1 person running the building descisions. Then you offer free reign on the interior decorating. It has'nt worked for me, portugese/ irish wife is very stubborn. :smash: Maybe it will work for you.:D

put her in charge of the color sceme of the rooms and stuff and say you are in charge of putting the house together:D

we moved into our house and my mothers boyfriend stated "new house, new baby" i looked at him and fell over laughing, i said ohhhhh noooo! no more babies, we moved in our house in April 2001 and in June I found out I was pregnant with our son, I still tease my moms boyfriend and say he cursed us...lol...

after my son was born, I definatly took care of the "no more babies problem" with a lil surgery called tied tubes:laughs:

I was pretty accepting of the $$ at first.....then when we tallied our final costs for repairs I lost it for about two days (I was a mess) and then I realized that its only money and though I dont have much of it, we WILL get by somehow, we always do so worrying myself to death over it isnt going to make it go away. It can be very overwhelming for sure but the first time it hits you (thats its YOURS) when you pull in the driveway after a hard days work.....you'll feel just fine!!!!

Let me know if you need tile, my sister spends my brother-in-laws money like it grows on a tree. I picked up boxes and boxes of tile some 13x13 and some 4x4, the larger in gray/blue pattern don't know the "official name" and the smaller in an off-white or cream. I keep meaning to stop by the tile shop I know they use to get the cost and advertise so I can pick up some money myself. If your in the market let me know, this is high end tile and I'm going to sell it to move fast if I can ever free up some time.

Ahhh........you don't lol. 'cause if you do she will bring it up in a fight about something else years down the road. Trust me... my wife is still pissed about the wall color in our living room. That was 3 years ago..........:smash:
